Excellent keyboard.
Just got this today. At first blush I love it. Very nice key action with good key travel and a good feel. Layout is excellent, much better than the keyboard it is replacing. (The old one went haywire.) Backlighting was very annoying, but easy to turn off. I am sick of wireless keyboards that keep losing connection intermittently. This keyboard is wired, so that's not an issue. Be aware that it has a USB A cable, so if your computer has any other kind of USB connectors you'll need an adapter. Worked right out of the box. (As soon as I figured out how to turn off the backlighting: F5 key.) Edited to add: As the room got dark, and it started to get hard to read the keys, I turned on the backlighting and it's great. In a bright room, it's best with the backlighting off. In a dark room, it's best with it on. Reconfirming five stars.

I like it!
Perfect replacement for Mac keyboard. It's a plug and play keyboard that works like the Mac keyboard . . . and it about 1/3 the price. A little heaver than the Mac keyboard but it feels like a quality built product. The backlite keyboard is a plus if you work at night or in low light situations. Personally I actually like the feel of the keys much better than the Mac keys. Will buy another for my back-up computer

One of the Best Keyboards for Mac
Most manufacturers, including Apple, now only offer Bluetooth keyboards, which, in my opinion, is a real issue. Latency issues when connecting and the occasional inability to recognize the keyboard during an emergency restart can sometimes make the user experience frustrating. Another problem with Bluetooth keyboards is their battery life. For heavy users such as journalists and academics, these keyboards often have a relatively short lifespan—around three to four years at best. This Macally keyboard is designed for those who write long texts and will appreciate its comfortable typing experience. It also features a sufficiently long cable to be used with a Mac Pro. My only minor complaint is that the Caps Lock indicator is located to the right of the keyboard rather than on the key itself—I personally prefer a small LED directly on the key to indicate when it's activated. Another great feature of this keyboard is the ability to adjust, disable, or fine-tune the brightness of the backlit keys. Many other manufacturers make their backlighting too bright without offering a way to modify it. Overall, having tested numerous keyboards, including Apple’s, this one is by far among the best I’ve ever used. I also appreciate its reasonable price given its quality, and the construction feels solid and durable.

Nice keyboard but doesn't work for me.
Nice keyboard in general. Lights stay on for at least 5 minutes of inactivity. Keyboard lights stay on when locked. The keyboard has a nice angle, but not adjustable. --- However, need to be aware of a couple issues... * F1 & F2 Screen Brightness doesn't work (they assign to F14 & F15 locked in). And I have a MBP and Apple Studio monitor. And I change brightness all the time. Could not reassign to F1 & F2. In fact, I could not reprogram F1 & F2 so those keys are not usable. * Only have 1 programmable key available. * USB A plug. My MBP has only USC-C, and it's an M1. And no adapter was included. * At certain angles, you see the bright LED's on the key gaps (see pics).

Absolutely excellent keyboard
I'm not a "keyboard connoisseur" by any means lol and traditionally whenever a keyboard began to feel a bit less than optimal I'd invest in a new Amazon Basics model (which are excellent low-cost keyboards I should add) BUT this time I decided to invest a little bit more and am very glad I did. I absolutely love the backllight, I didn't think it would make that much of a difference (I'm in a brightly lighted room) but it does just make the keyboard that much nicer to use, I can't really explain it better lol. Point of fact, I bought one of this model for my home and a few days later bought one for my office because it was so nice to type on. To be clear, my home computer is a Windows 11 machine BUT the keyboard works perfectly, you just have to remember the command key behaves as the Windows key, etc. I use a Mac at my office and have always used an app called "Sharpkeys" to allow me to remap the control key and the windows key on my keyboards so my "finger memory" from my Mac remains the same. To explain that last sentence for those who don't know, on a Mac most keyboard combinations are the same **but** you hit the key just beside the space bar as the modifier rather than the control key.

Surprisingly great keyboard for my iMac desk setup.
Searched high and low for a keyboard that I could use with my iMac that wasn’t $100-200 and this is the one. Pros: It’s relatively inexpensive. It’s backlit so it makes using this keyboard easy in low light situations. It’s got a similar look and feel to the older original MacBook keyboards which I always liked. Lighting evenness isn’t perfect below the keys but the letters on the keys light up very clearly. I find it comfortable to type on. For me, the bigger point is that this is a wired keyboard so, no constant charging, no dropped Bluetooth connections, no usb receivers or dongles to interfere with startup and security. I can live with a single black USB cable going across a few inches of my desk when the trade off is that it is ALWAYS on and ready to go plus it’s got every Mac shortcut a Mac keyboard has plus a few extras. So far it’s been 110% reliable. Believe it or not, this has replaced my Logitech MX Master keyboard which gave me nothing but trouble in almost every way. A great full sized illuminated keyboard for fifty bucks.

Good typing keyboard with some quirks
After two years of use: The good: good feel. Yes, it's a little more noisy, little more key travel, little more effort than the Apple wired aluminum but I got used to it fairly quickly--ultimately it became a fast typing keyboard. The poor: As many have noted, the lighting is uneven, particularly on the bottom row. Light escaping around the edges of the keys is also annoying but you learn to ignore it. The bad (with rant): after 18 months, the black is wearing of the keys. First to go were the ridges for finger placement on the F and J keys--which was good since they start passing light and that visually highlights their location. Now some of the letters are beginning to disappear. Rant: One of my complaints about keyboards made in the last two decades is they universally place the sensory ridges on the F and J keys at the bottom edge of the keys where your fingers can't readily feel them....back in the 90's Apple keyboards at least used a small raised braille-like dot in the middle of the F and J keys that you could find instantly--and continuously--WITHOUT LOOKING-- as you moved your hand around or reached for something on your desk. I suppose someone complained about feeling that dot all the time so manufacturer's universally moved it to the lower edge of the key--perhaps trying to compensate for it's more indistinct location by turning it into a ridge--but where regardless it is never to be felt again.....that ridge is especially worthless on cupped keys as this keyboard uses. Here's a thought for keyboard manufacturer's: Why do keys and touch points for the blind have the braille dots in the middle? Same concept applies to the F and J keys on keyboards for the sighted! The 'Duh' moment': Who makes a wired USB keyboard without USB ports? MacAlly!! (in fairness, I had a Kensignton compact wired keyboard years ago that had no USB ports either) I see MacAlly has fixed that oversight with their 'Premium Wired USB-C keyboard for Mac' but which trades the backlighting for the USB ports--for $20 more. So, 'complete package' with Backlighting for another $20? The 'not quite working right': The multilevel backlighting--being able to reduce to something that is not overly bright (esp with the light bleed around the key edges)--is a nice feature, until your Mac sleeps. When it awakes, the lighting is back to the highest level. I gave up and just got used to the high setting--which helps with the more dimly lit keys anyway. The 'feature that didn't make it into the design': No adjustment for tilt. I found this keyboard overly flat and ended up slipping a ruler under the rear edge to give the little bit of elevation that my fingers needed--which also gives it the same angle as is built into the equally 'non adjustable for tilt' Apple keyboard. So, bottom line, this is a good typing keyboard for about 18-24 months until the black starts wearing off the keys (your mileage may vary depending on the roughness and acidity of your finger tips), and assuming you are not put off by the lighting quirks and lack of USB ports.

Perfect for stationary Mac Mini
Perfect for my stationary Mac Mini. Has a Mac specific KB layout. No batteries to recharge. Lighted KB (3 levels) so you can see the keys in low light. No software required for install (like some wireless KBs). Inexpensive.

Great Keyboard
Awesome Keyboard. Nice and quiet and the backlight is a bonus.

USB rather than USB-C, not USB port
It’s very similar to my old Mac wired keyboard - keys not too deep, which I like. While it meets my needs perfectly, two things to consider. You may want to buy another model that has a USB-C connection rather than a USB connection. Also there is no USB port built into the keyboard, so if you use a wired mouse you can’t plug it into the keyboard.
