A must read! Real and relatable!
Kerry's writing is real and down-to-earth as she describes her experiences as a political spouse. I was enlightened by the trials and tribulations she has been through, and appreciate the transparency of her personal life during that time. I also enjoyed learning more about the behind-the-scenes process of the local elections. A talented writer and storyteller--I highly recommend this book and look forward to more books written by Kerry!

Highly Recommend!!
This book is so well written and is a fast read. I loved all the details about being a political spouse (it is not boring!!). In addition, the author weaves in information about her personal life ranging from a house fire, a medical scare and volunteer work. Kerry is a native of Saint Petersburg, FL and the information about Saint Petersburg from her childhood to the present is fascinating. You will love this book!!

A great read, authentic and insightful
Kerry shares her journey of being First Lady to a changing city through the lens of the good natured, caring individual that she is. I enjoyed learning about the political life from her point of view and the fact that she never had any ambitions for power but rather had, and still has, a servant's heart. She is a very real, deep and inspiring person. Reading about how she gracefully handled the many challenges that came along with her role really inspired me. There really are good people in the world!

Open and honest look at life as a political spouse
Kerry Kriseman pulls no punches in her candid memoir of her 22 years as a political spouse. That said, it is in no way a "hit piece"; she is open and vulnerable about her life as the wife of St. Petersburg, Florida's fifty-third mayor, Rick Kriseman, and all the ups and downs of that life. Kerry's ability to glean positive meaning even out of some very challenging situations is a testament to her character, and she definitely rose to those challenges. "Accidental" First Lady, perhaps, but certainly amazing to read how she and her family navigated life in the fishbowl that is politics.I highly recommend this book. You'll get to know Kerry Kriseman and appreciate that she is far more than her husband's "arm candy". She is her own person, and has many attributes that would lend to her own career in politics, should she choose to go that route.Mabel MacMillan

Gracefully forthright, powerful and forbearing.
I watched Kerry firsthand manage parenting, a career, marriage and health crisis in the public eye, all with grace, and grit when necessary. To live it was one thing, but then to write about it all so openly and honestly is both admirable and commendable. Thank you, Kerry, for sharing your journey with us, and inspiring us to remain honest, tenacious, faithful, true to oneself, and above all, loyal to those we love. These life lessons are applicable for all of us, but what a treasure this book would be for anyone wanting to support the career of their spouse while not losing themselves in the process.

An enjoyable/entertaining insight to the life of a politician
Kerry Kriseman is an acquaintance only because she is currently raising Irwin for Southeastern Guide Dogs and I am raising one of his siblings, Peaches. I bought the book to be supportive. However I thoroughly enjoyed the read. She shares a lot because she's been through a lot. It truly left me feeling like the world would be a better place if we knew more about each other to increase our understanding/compassion. I would recommend this book!

A very interesting inside look at the life for the family of a politcian
A great read, written beautifully and with passion, honesty, and sincerity. One always wonders what life is for the spouse and children of a political figure. Mrs. Kriseman has put her soul in this book and she has succeeded in making it known of the difficulties, the sacrifices, and the bonding the family lives through during the years of a public figure, and done so eloquently.

This book took great courage and humility to write. Kerry shares honestly and with an open heart, the trials and tribulations of being a mayors wife. This book will resonate with women everywhere, whether a politicians wife or not, who are challenged every day to be their authentic selves.
