I am a size 22 in dresses, with a 40 inch waist and 53 inch hip, and I usually wear a size 2x in most clothes. I had ordered a size up since the instructions said to do so if one is between sizes and when I ordered this I had a 56 inch hip, but the 3x (xxxl) was too large for me -- on the tightest setting it was still loose.I then ordered the 2x which works VERY well for me. I use it to rest my back after a workout because I have to carry heavy bags to my car right after I work out and this can strain my back. For a little while I was making the mistake of cinching it too tight- now I just pull it a LITTLE (like, half an inch or an inch) past where it would fall without stretching, and it supports my back wonderfully.Edit 8/29/2020: after 18 months of fairly regular use, it now requires a tighter cinch since the elastic is more stretched out, but it still works really well. I have run it through the washer a few times (taking the "bones" out and fastening the velcro so that it didn't tangle) and hung it to dry with no issue. I'm changing my review to a 5-star because I didn't expect this length of durability! Excellent product, would definitely purchase again.Also, I saw some complaints about it rolling or sliding off of hips -- if it rolls, you probably have it on too tight, or you need to take the "bones" (the stiff part in the middle of the back) out. On me it bends with my waist curve when I sit, but I took the bones out immediately because I know that will not work with a sharp waist/hip curve.It will slide up your hips over time but literally anything that is not custom-made will do that if you have wider hips than waist. It stays in place well if you are standing or walking. I make sure not to bend at the waist when I wear this unless I am prepared to adjust it immediately. Adjusting it is not difficult unless I'm wearing several layers on top.

The brace helps my back. I’ve had 3 back surgeries and getting ready for my 4th surgery.

I am a woman that weighs 270 pounds I’m I’m 5 foot three and I wear a size 20 pants and a 3X shirt so I got the 2X I sized down and it is huge. I am currently waiting to exchange it for an extra large. I will keep you posted to see if this fits correctly. I hope this helps anyone that decides to purchase it. quality wise this thing is made very well. I feel like it’s long enough to actually cover a good portion of your butt and lower back if you’re having pain in your lower back sciatic area like I am, so definitely down

I bought this for my boyfriend. He recently started a new job in a warehouse and wanted a new back brace for support. He has told me on several occasions that it does not stay in place. It slides up so it doesn't stay where it's supposed to. So, the whole purpose of providing support to his hips and lumbar is pointless. He told me I wasted my money. We have tried it on top of and beneath his shirt, neither way has worked for him. It is a nice breathable fabric and is comfortable for the first hour or so before it slides up. I think this would probably work great for someone who only needs it for a workout, house repair, or yard work. If you need it for an 8 hour or more workday, then I don't think it's the product for you.

I already own a white brace ability I bought from the original website. I only bought this because it's in black. I don't like how the material feels. It's not the same as the original. The black one gives me a rash if worn too long. And it collects alot if body sweat so it smells after a while.The white one I already own is size 4-5xl. Fits perfect.The black I bought from this review is 4xl and it fits a little too big. It sometimes rolls down to my waste.Good support but I prefer the original.

I’m grateful for this back brace it has really helped my lower back pain and I appreciate how easy it was to pick the right size,I think it’s great for tall/ plus size women

Unfortunately, this brace did not work for me. I measured and bought the correct size and couldn't wait to receive it. My low back and hip was very painful due to sciatica. The brace felt great as long as I didn't walk or sit. It just kept riding up. I found it to be very stiff. I tried many times but it was a no go!
