The battery is CR2032
I had this for a day and so far it's worth it. I'll be using it for tasks at work, tracking study times and breaks, workouts, and cooking at home. I got it because I find smart phone timers to be unreliable and unwieldy. Too often do the smartphones simply quit timing. Or they simply don't sound an alarm because of some glitch. Even if they don't glitch I still need to fiddle with unlocking the phone and then switching back to the timer app. Smartphones are too heavy and delicate for workouts, too distracting for studying, and I dont want to get grease or risk liquid on my phone while cooking. This device is so much more convenient and probably much more reliable. All of the descriptions I could find (even on competing sites) don't say clearly what battery it uses, only implying it uses AAA batteries but it really uses CR2032. It is very light weight and feels like it is fairly durable. I haven't sat on it like the other reviewer but I imagine if I have something in my pocket pressing on the screen, then i sit on it, I could see it cracking the screen. So I guess don't sit on it. The colored plastic feels like it is slightly rubbery so the grip feels nice. It comes with a removable clip but I don't see many use cases. When the clip is attached it gets in the way of the magnets to stick to metal things. Without the clip the magnets are strong enough to stick to all the metal surfaces I tried, except stainless (magnets do not stick to stainless). The alarm is loud enough I easily hear it two rooms over in a quiet home. It might be sufficient in a professional kitchen or other loud environment but I don't work in a kitchen anymore so I can't really try it out. It'd be cool if there was a low or high volume setting but there is only on or mute. The screen flashes its light when time is up so it has visual alerts as well. When time is up it starts counting up. There is no way to stop the alarm without stopping the count up. so far it's a great product and the only things I wish it had is water resistance and some sort of alarm volume control besides on or mute.

Timer functionality is great!
This little timer is exactly what I wanted. I like the fact that you don't have to put in the times by 1 minute at a time and it has 5 or 10 minute increments. It's plenty loud for me to hear from the other room and also small enough that if I want to stick it in my pocket I can and take it with me. It comes with a lanyard but I won't really use that. The lanyard clip keeps the magnets from working well but we took the clip off and the magnets work great now. There were some other reviews about the magnets not being strong enough, but they actually are as long as the clip is out of the way. If you want to use the clip and the magnets you're probably going to have to add some magnet power. For me it works perfectly though and I got rid of my stupid timer that I have to set one minute at a time! And the color matches my kitchen which is an added bonus.

perfect soccer coaches clock.
I have tried so many ways to time my soccer games and this is by far the easiest and best. The timer on my phone is ok, but it turns off and other apps take over right when I need it. This timer counts up or down, is easy to set and reset without pushing 50 buttons and even has a second timer visible at the same time for a sub timer or whatever you want. It hangs on a lanyard upside down so is easy to read at a glance when you grab it. I have only owned it for a couple of weeks so cannot address durability, but it seems to be built well.

Nice timer - could use a few tweaks
So far I've been very happy with this for the last few months. I use it constantly to keep track of how long I've been doing something and to set time limits for various tasks as it was designed. I appreciate the easy to use preset time buttons so I don't have to type in time on my phone, and i can keep an eye on it as it runs. I didn't think id use the dual time feature but actually it's come in handy a few times. The battery life is great so far haven't need to replace them. It's got an easy to access battery cover when needed though. One issue i have with this though is portability. There is a clip on the back for holding it in a pocket. While the clip works, i seem to manage to pop it out of its slot fairly often. I like that it's removable but i have to remember to be careful. I really wanted to keep this inside my pocket at all times, but the screen was immediately scratched by my other pocket stuff and now I can't trust it there. Hanging from your neck works in some circumstances but for me it's annoying in that spot. I'd adore a clear screen cover or protector of some kind, or a sliding/flipping one. In addition, the timer noise absolutely gets your attention. It's actually too loud. I want to keep track of time in public sometimes, but keeping it muted forces me to check on it and the whole point of it was for helping alert me when time is up so I don't get sucked in a task too long. A vibrating feature or a volume adjustment would make this perfect!

tick tock on the clock
Finally, a kitchen timer that gets it right. The UX is simple and efficient, the alarm is loud enough to hear from upstairs (even through vacuum-sealed packaging), and unlike an iPhone or other timers, it keeps alerting until Itโs addressed. Exactly what a timer should do! Points for improvement would be having 2 more alarms without making the unit bigger maybe a toggle switch to change between timer 1/2 and 3/4.

Works great!
This is a great kitchen timer. Works great. Easy to read. Good size to throw in a travel bag. Has two separate timer functions so you can run two timers at once. Count up or down, and the quick-set buttons make it very easy to set and use. One addition I would like to see is a magnet on the back (it does not have one) so that you could put it on a vertical surface where its easy to see. I don't like counter clutter! Still, โฆ. a great product.

Easy to set, easy to read, loud
I really like the lanyard feature I like the volume Of the alarm as itโs very easy to hear in a loud kitchen. And having to timer is really nice. If you need a timer that you carry with you, I highly recommend this one.

Nice
Got it for work so I can keep track of sweeps. Sleep is when you walk the store make sure there's no spills in the store got in trouble for using my cell phone so this is good way to use a timer what I really like about the timer is that it turns off after 10 minutes not being used
