An anti-constipation snack for young children
This is an anti-constipation snack for young children. It's manufactured and distributed by General Mills, a well-known and recognized company. It's designed to be easy for kids to eat, and contains fiber and probiotics designed to aid with regular bowel movements.Okay, the first thing to understand is that this is not really intended as a kid snack, or a kid's treat. It's a treatment for constipation. As outlined on the product packaging, your child should not eat more than one serving of these (one pouch) per day - and they absolutely should chase it with a large glass or bottle of water.Inside the outer box are sealed individual serving pouches. The pouches are unlabeled, plain silver, and do not contain any kid-enticing art or anything else to imply this is some kind of candy. Inside the pouch are four individual triangles which comprise one serving. The image I've uploaded shows them against a half-sheet of paper towel, to give you an idea of size. The snacks are dark in color, and I had a very mild sweet smell. They have the texture of a soft fruit leather, and a mild, just above bland taste... I would describe it as a very mild flavor of dates. As an adult, I wouldn't pick these as a snack, but for children, they have just the right taste level to be pleasant. The fiber makes them a bit filling, and the prunes (ah, we all remember prunes, don't we?) and the cultures work with the fiber to promote bathroom regularity.Overall I think this will be an excellent product for kids, much better than the days of prunes and other more direct treatments, and one that you will certainly be able to get your kids to eat regularly. Just don't forget that water!Although not linked to this item, I note that these also come in a Strawberry version, likely also worth trying.

They Taste like FigNewtons!
My son struggles with the occasional constipation. We never have really figured out what it is that makes him have issues. We juice. We think dairy might be a cause. Normally, when he is really struggling, I give him children's version of metamucil which does help relieve his symptoms but I don't like the idea of giving him medicine.I really like this idea of a constipation easer in a more natural form. I feel good about these ingredients and these ingredients are actually healthy for his body so I don't have to worry about any negative side effects. So, I have to say that the taste is absolutely amazing. These taste even better than I thought they would. My son is pretty picky about anything containing dried fruit like these but he really enjoys them. In order to give a proper and thorough review, I decided to have a pack of these myself of these myself so I could see what they tasted like. They taste just like strawberry fig Newtons, in my opinion! Delicious. I can speak from personal experience that these actually do work with digestion. I don't really struggle with constipation and I wasn't really expecting to experience the results of these since I am an adult and these are technically meant for children but I have to say that this did make me go. I didn't experience any discomfort or cramps. It wasn't a bad experience at all.

Disgusting and extremely hard to chew
Daughter loved the strawberry bars, but when I went to reorder they were out of stock. Ordered these instead, she absolutely hated them! The box and site link say 30 day money back guarantee but there's no way to get ahold of Amazon seller to get that back!!! Wasted over $30 :( Disgusting and hard to chew.

Note a hidden warning for children under 4 years old
We have an ultra picky toddler that is really difficult to get to try any new foods with unusual textures and tastes. She is approaching 3 and I introduced these to her by saying I was eating some new chocolate chips. She loves chocolate - or so she thinks. She took one of these and with its brown color she never questioned if she was eating chocolate or not and reacted the same as if she had received m&m's. I had looked at the ingredient list already and only saw fruits, nuts, and probiotics listed and maybe a couple of ingredients to extend shelf life, but mostly looked healthy. But after reading further, there is a warning not to give these to children under 4 without consulting your doctor. I had already let her eat the bag so I wasn't too thrilled this warning wasn't more obvious. I feel like the warning is unfounded but I'll be limiting her to a single snack at a time just in case. There is also a note to ensure you give plenty of liquid to your kid when they eat one of these. That is not really an issue with her since she drinks alot in a day. But it's worth mentioning. I do not see these anywhere on the product page and these individual packages say nothing on them. If these shouldn't be given to toddlers, the box needs to be clearly labeled as such - not some fine print.I tasted of these and I'm pretty sure our toddler would have nixed these if she didnt think they were chocolate. They taste nothing like chocolate and have a weird texture. They taste like ground up fruit roll ups mixed with dehydrated prunes. They break up into a bunch of bits that you can still chew like a fruit roll up. The flavor is a mix of all the ingredients and isn't overly sweet. Another review mentioned fig cookies and they do sort of remind me of the inside of one of those a bit but drier. In either case, I am no doctor but feel like the warning is just not to feed too many prunes to a toddler. We are in the process of diaper training so I figure we'll notice if we give her too many. She ate these yesterday evening and after 16 hours, she hasn't gone to potty so I don't think they gave her diarrhea. I don't plan on giving her more than 1 or 2 per day since there is a warning on the box.
