Ugh! Water still runs down the wall
We replaced our noisy builder fan of 50 CFM with this 80CFM. The bathroom requires 60 CFM based on the small size. We also updated the ducting from 4” to 6” (straight shot up attic from upstairs bathroom, no turns). Both of these upgrades should have stopped water from running down the walls after a shower. It didn’t.The fan is ultra quiet, I will give it that. Other than that we are extremely disappointed. It should remove fog from the mirrors and prevent water running down the walls during a normal temperature 10 minute shower. It does neither. We plan on replacing this fan. More time and more money. I suggest you spare yourself and buy something else.

So quiet, it's wonderful.
I try to do quite a bit of research before buying things like this, and I definitely got this one right. Exhaust fan is strong enough for the laundry room area, small enough to fit the space between the light and the joist. But the big bonus, this is so quiet the electrician thought it wasn't running when he first turned it on.

Problematic
My particular unit appears defective, unless it was designed poorly from the start. 1. The fan motor takes several seconds to start rotating after flipping the switch, and up to 9 seconds before it reaches full speed. 2. It also modulates or undulates in RPMs and you can hear it. Bearing issue? 3. The duct adapter doesn't fit inside of 4" solid duct -- only semi-rigid or accordian-style duct, yet when fans are tested for CFMs -- air volume movement -- they test with smooth, solid duct. So the adapter they offer for this unit is slightly too big to fit inside solid duct. 4. It also doesn't come with hanger bars -- those extra support extension arms to suspend between joists -- despite the fan housing having two slots for them. Makes no sense. So I went to their website and found no menu choice for parts. Again, makes zero sense. 5. When I contacted them for warranty replacement or refund, they required me to send photos and even a video w/ audio to convince them, as if it's a court trial, of my claims as if I'm a liar. They must have to do this a lot to not believe consumers, right? WTH do I have to gain? Then instead of investigating my claims with my model fan, they inexplicably tested a different model fan to prove that it does fit 4" solid duct and sent me photos! And then explained that most contractors use semi-rigid or flex duct, as if they know. Finally, they wanted a photo of my simple, on/off Leviton switch. My conclusion: They are selling fans they do not manufacture and know that some have quality control issues coming out of the factory -- maybe so many that they'd go broke honoring warranties. IMO, Amazon should ban them.

Nice quality and features
I've installed a few of these Delta Breeze fans in my house. I like the soft start feature (they take 5 or so seconds to come up to full speed), and I like that they are fairly quiet. They are a nice, economical upgrade from the typical cheap fans that builders install.I've found that these things are not trivial to install (at least in 'old' work, where you are replacing an existing fan). The old fans can be a bit of a pain to get out. My solution has been to use a pair of tin snips and essentially fold the old fan in on itself, to gain access to the 'ears' where they are screwed into the studs. This way, you can get them out without doing any damage to your drywall. Also, the vents are either 3" or 4", and so some of these might require an adapter to match up with your existing vent hose. This unit has a 4" output, but my vent hoses were 3", so I had to get an adapter. As noted in the specs, this unit isn't as quiet as the equivalent 50 CFM model. The difference is noticeable, but it is still much quieter than my old, cheap, builder's model.

Quiet because the motor is weak, motor is under-powered
I bought this to replace the vent in the master bathroom. It was the same dimensions so I thought it would be a simple swap. It took a little work and a little sheet rock trimming to get the new housing installed. Once installed I flipped the switch and the motor seamed to slowly spin up to speed. It is quiet I'll give you that but it does not seam to move near as much air as the previous fan which was considerably louder but moved a lot more air. This motor is under powered.

BEST FAN EVER!
Wow, what a great product! I put a Nutone fan in my daughter's laundry room 3-4 years ago. It was objectionably noisy and also out of balance - high vibration, like another Nutone I put in my own home when built. Should have returned it to Home Depot at the time. Anyway, in 3-4 years of use, it got noisier and vibration got even worse. This fan fit exactly the same opening and was an easy swap for the defective Nutone fan. I turned it on and thought it wasn't running at first - it has a very soft start and then picks up speed to an almost imperceptible sound level. I'm impressed (and not buying Nutone again).

Not silent, but reasonably quiet
The unit I have throttles itself under load - starting slow and building up to speed. I am surmising that this is a trait of the DC motor. Seems to move air well. My unit came without the mounting brackets for new install which may have meant it was a return, but I adapted the joist cavity to make it work.

Quiet
Ordered, and received, 2. Fans are much quieter than the fans they replaced. The idea of easy self-installation is a joke. Access through attic was required. Took electrician 2 hours to install 2 fans, and he said that was only because my attic was "roomy."
