This is a wonderful book. It increases one's imagination, yet stays to God's Word.

I loved this book.! The way it painted a picture in my mind of what could have happened from Adam's time to the Revelation. Some of those things were things i would never think about. I also like it because it focuses about the Bible even though it still paints a picture in your mind.

A great story of God's love for mankind

The gospel message spoken in a story and through the eyes of angels and man. It’s so beautiful and so deep. The story builds so well and was very thoughtfully written. It brings you hope for what’s to come and encouragement while on this earth. Highly recommend!

This book will take you on the most wildest adventures of the greatest love story ever written. It will expand and test the limits of your imagination and leave you feeling like you've touch the divine. It starts where no other story has ever started and ends where all other stories are trying so hard to get to. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know the why behind the what as far as anything religion has ever attempted to explain.

This is a story about God's love. To get the most from this reading one must keep in mind that it is fiction. The author paints a uniquely different picture from anything most of us have ever imagined remotely possible. The importance lies in the fact that we are a 'stubborn people' when it comes to what we have learned about Spiritual matters and don't like anyone to mess with it. And therein is the value of "The Divine Romance". The very fact of its difference is a mind-opener, and while I don't agree with the writer's concept, I have to admit that it is a mind opener to the fact that we do not know all there is to know about God.

I first read this book a couple of years ago. It was strange to me, the way Gene humanizes really unsettled me. I didn't finish it, until now. Over the last year and a half my heart and soul have been awakened to the full knowledge of what God's immeasurable grace truly is. I have come to realize that, specifically in this book, Gene isn't humanizing God, he is speaking from a place of our rightful position as a reflection of our Creator, we were made like HIM, we are the ones who were made IN HIM! We are the likeness of our Great Lover! That understanding made this book come to life in a way that is indescribable. God wants us, He pursues us, He passionately cares for us, in spite of our not even realizing it! God loves you more than you could ever fathom! He's not mad at you and He wants you to know that He is waiting to hold you once more. You were thought of before the foundation of the world, before creation. You are His most desired treasure! Grad this book! It allows God to be who He truly is, our Perfect Lover!

I have had this book for years, given a copy away many times, recommended it many more times and quote from it often. Especially for people who find the Bible boring or too complicated and never get started reading it, for those who have had negative experiences with church or how they were taught about God, for those who feel he is remote and not sure he cares-this is the book that can change a life forever. To me, this is the essential story line of the Bible, which is indeed a love story. When read like that, you then read the Bible differently, see all the wars and hardships differently and realize God was trying to save people because he love us all desperately much. And he didn't "need" a counter part. He is self-sufficient on his own. He Wanted a counter part, on whom he could pour his infinite love and have it returned equally. We are his bride, and that does not mean men will be women in heaven. It means that all of us put together form a whole, a choir, a city, a bride, a part of him separate and yet part of him-similarly to how Eve was created from a bone of Adam and so they were two and yet one. I have grown to love God so much more since I read this and other books and know he loves me passionately and knows me (and you) individually with all the passion of a lover and wonderful spouse-and then some.

A challenging and enjoyable read! Would recommend this book to those looking for a fuller and more spiritual understanding of the heart and love of God.

What a beautiful book. One is swept along as the story unfolds. When we get to Calvary the reader is stopped in their tracks. One can only lay the book down and worship. I was left speechless at the cross. What a saviour. Thankyou Lord for your greAt love for me.
