RIDGID 42478 STRAPLOCK Pipe Handle 7" Strap Wrench, Red

This thing is great. I have tried a few strap wrenches in the past and always struggled to get them to work. This one works just like I was hoping it would. The strap grabs the pipe, it has a quick release for the strap so there isn't much fussing around getting it snug, and the handles feel good in my hands.

Simple tool that makes a world of difference when fitting up pipe 3" and larger. I had to do an entire DWV run in a crawl space and this tool was a massive help. Seems dumb at first thinking, "yeah, whatever, I've put so much pipe together with my bare hands so why bother." WRONG! This tool is a game changer in attics, crawl spaces, trenches, pushing up or holding vertical runs, using in conjunction with a deburring tool, and even when just cutting pipe. Bought it initially for use on a job in a tight crawl space, now thinking about buying another!!! LOL.

Unique cam action of strap mechanism is better than any other strap wrench I’ve tried. A bit bulky for tight spaces, but otherwise superior to the many other versions in my tool cabinet. A good value.

Rubber strap is a little too slippery to obtain a really firm grip on PVC pipe. You will need to “distress” the gripping surface to obtain a higher coefficient of friction between the strap and pipe. Otherwise a pretty nice tool!

I am a plumber by trade, and decided to add this to my tool collection as I believed it would execute it's purpose good,considering it is manufactured by Ridgid. I highly recommend adding this tool to your tool bag. I have used the Ridgid Straplock wrench to work with Schedule 80 Cpvc pipe ranging from 3" all the way up to 10". It has greatly assisted me by allowing me to have leverage of the pipe without needing anyone else. This makes solvent welding my pipe a breeze,whether it be a fitting,or stick of pipe. It has served me very well,and can say I have easily done over about 300ft+ of pipe installation with this tool alone. I would reccomend buying two straplocks,as you could have leverage from both sides, you will not be disappointed.

I am working on a on-demand water heater project and it requires 3" PVC for exhaust and intake. PVC has a very smooth surface and is impossible to grip it tightly to turn or push into fittings. This tool changes the whole situation and make it so easy to put a tight grip on the pipe with no slipping whatsoever. The only downside is the tool need quite a big clearance to setup up the grip. If you are installing pipe in between joists and there are other pipes running at the bottom of the joist, you may have trouble setting up the tool. But nevertheless, get it before you need to work on PVC.

Works best when using two of the StrapLock pipe handlers on 4" PVC pipe. Straplock holds the strap length between uses. No re-adjustment needed! So set up one strap to fit the bell end of the PVC pipe and the other strap to fit the the pipe diameter. A must have set of tools when trying to pull lengths of larger diameter PVC pipe together before the adhesive sets up. Just finished a job with 500 feet of 4" PVC pipe and was accomplished with out any cuss words because I used the Rigid Straplock pipe handle strap wrench.

This is well made product easy to use and has been holding up to field work I've been doing . I use it for pvc work as plumber rather than use riser clamps or straps . I would recommend buying two if you can afford it because I've ran into situation where two would have been nice. A must have for the toolbox.

Resuelve muy bien el problema de sujetar tuberías porque NO se patina a diferencia de otras llaves que ni sujetan o no tienen la fuerza en el punto de contacto para abrir un vaso de filtro, aflojar una tuerca unión de PVC. La construcción es robusta, la cinta aparentemente se ve delgada y delicada pero como la fuerza de agarre es a lo largo de toda la cinta no hay problemas de rotura. Permite sujetar muy bien un tubo ya que la llave se "cierra" y permite un buen apalancamiento, no lastima la mano. Realmente es un buen producto, bien diseñado y logrado. Lo recomiendo.

Soy fontanero y no conocía está herramienta es estupenda sobre todo para el montaje de PVC en desagüe, herramienta muy sólida no es un juguete, muy recomendable.
