Didn’t work.
Was super excited to get this, worked out of the box but the menu and workflow is atrocious. Their little card that’s supposed to explain functions makes no sense and is no help at all, just loading a preset is complicated. On my second attempt at playing with it figured I’d try watching along with sone videos to see if that would help, but I never got another sound to ever play from my unit again. Tried multiple midi keyboards, looked at every setting I could think of, but the thing is now just a $600 paper-weight after one use. Thankfully it’s still under 30 days, and I’ll be getting my money back and not messing with Dreadbox anymore.Update: turns out that this synthesizer is only compatible with a certain kind of midi adapters, any midi adapter that came along with an Arturia product isn’t going to work. This was never mentioned on anything inside the box though, it took a fair bit of internet research to finally diagnose this as the problem. So be aware of this. As for the rest of this synth, I hate the workflow. It’s just confusing and annoying. I may as well sell it off now cuz it never gets used.

Petite box of smiles.
This is my second Dreadbox synth and I could not be more pleased. Although the workflow is a bit fiddly at first, I quickly adapted to it's unique interface. They really have packed quite a bit into a tiny package. To the boys in Greece, I raise a toast to you!

All good but one very important problem to be aware of
Great 6 voice VCO poly synth in an extremelly compact form factor.I dont think the interface is that difficult to learn, its much more logical and simple than a lot of other synths. However, one BIG problem that I have with it is the envelopes are scratchy/noisy. No matter how much attack and release you give it, you will hear a clicking noise with every midi input which will be audible in recording situations.I know they released a patch to help this problem, and it helped a bit but it is still there and very audible. If they get rid of the noisy envelopes then I will purchase it again, otherwise its not very usable in recording situations. For live its fine, the noise wont be noticed, but recording is pretty obvious.
