Nursing2023 Drug Handbook (Nursing Drug Handbook)

I have both the Davis drug guide for nurses and this Nursing 2023 Drug handbook by Wolters Kluwer and I prefer the Wolters Kluwer version. The drug classes especially which are in the first 50 pages are easier to understand as a whole because the appropriate drugs for the classes are listed and the Davis drug guide just gives the broad classification and does not list clearly drugs in the class. Keep in mind the Davis drug guide contains “ nursing implications” with the drug classes which the Kluwer version does not , but they’re obviously listed with the drugs themselves.

I have always preferred this drug handbook over others. As usual it did not disappoint. It has been years since I have needed this book. However it was not bought for me, but as a gift for my child, who has recently joined the ranks of nursing students. The nursing drug guide required for her course was limited, unclear, and short on information. One of her main complaints was understanding the action of the drugs. This guide clearly explains not only drug actions, but interactions with both drugs, but drugs and food, side effects, and nursing teachings and considerations. I believe this a far better drug guide over others and I now believe it will be my soon-to-be nurse’s permanent choice as well.

I got this for nursing school this fall and the book is in pretty good condition. So far as I can tell there are no missing pages and the printing job on the pages is good (ink isn't faded or anything). There are scuffs on all the inside cover corners but it's not a big deal; there's also a lot of faint scratches on the back but you can only see them if you hold the book at an angle in the light.

Have used this in my career at the bedside. Purchased to use with university BSN students.

In general, this is a great book - but I was very disappointed to find it doesn’t include details about glaucoma meds - so no info about the dude effects of eye drops.

Seriously amazing. I went through 3 other Nursing drug guides before finally caving and getting this one which has everything my professors want me to know clearly laid out. A very long list of nursing specific considerations which is exactly what I need!

As a nurse, this is my go to quick book when I need information on medication. I have bought previous issues.

I like this book, very detailed and it is all that I need as I am only starting with my nursing career. The price is not that bad considering that it is the most updated evidence based written book so for the newly graduate and students, I recommend this book as a starting guide.
