desertcart.com: Piper: Alien Surrogate Agency #1: 9798410266734: Black, Tasha: Books Review: Who doesn't love an AI turned hopeless romantic? - I didn't know it was even a trope, much less my new favorite trope, until I read a series recently that had a similar, but sassier AI determined to help aliens fall in love with each other. I was so excited to find another series like this. It's obviously not the main plot, but it made me smile like an idiot every single time. I also rarely take the time to review books, because I read so many of them. I read 331 in 2024 alone. But this author and this book was begging for a review with how much I loved every moment of it. I liked the low angst, cozier vibe. There was still action and conflict, but none of it felt too dire or too serious and I was able to enjoy the story without stressing too much about how the characters would get their HEA. While sometimes I do want books with a more intense plot and conflicts, most of the time I just want to be able to imagine a different world and indulge in some romance without too many tears and anxiety. Tasha Black did a fantastic job, and I have her entire backlog in my TBR now. She might just be one of my new favorite authors. Harper, here I come! Review: fun read - Good story,, not the run of the mill alien human romance. It is steamy, so not for YA. I enjoyed it.

Turning infertility into a happy ever after
I was moved by this story to do my 1st review. Purchased the book for the promised happy ending & out of this world romance. It did not disappoint, but delivered even more. Having gone thru the emotional upheavals of infertility treatments & the financial burden it can include, I was touched by how honestly & tactfully the author covered the topic. Not shying away from the heartache of the sometimes painful procedures ...but not losing the uplifting message of hope, family & happiness. Well worth the read. Am now purchasing the rest on Valentine's Day, no less. Keep up the good work.

fascinating
loved this book! I read it in just a couple of hours. Brax is on another planet and is the last of his blood line and desperately wants a child who he can pass his wine ๐ท empire to keeping it away from his greedy cousins. Piper is on another planet that puts all its energy into pregnancy and having babies. She's not successful in getting pregnant no matter how many fertility treatments she has even though her boyfriend and her have the strictest rules on how too become pregnant. but Pieper has spent so many credits on her treatments and her longtime boyfriend Tron has moved on because he wants a family but he breaks her heart by jumping in the sack with a neighbor. Pieper has given up trying to get pregnant and has decided too close her account at the fertility center and she will get some credits back. But in a twist she's offered a secret chance to be a surrogate for a man on another planet who desperately wants a child. Should she do it?

Enjoyable characters. ๐ Oberon is by far my favorite!!
There are only a few typos, so the book is quite readable. The characters are fun. The story is somewhat rushed, but it's a fun afternoon read.

Awesome
What an amazing series already, and itโs only book one. Earth isnโt what it used to be and weโre not even called earthlings. Earth is old earth, and our species is spread out. Terra58 Is one of the most advanced planets with our species. And it is a matriarch society. That is what brought this planet to be more prosperous than the others that head our species on it. The problem with that is A law states a female must first be her child before she can even be in a relationship. It is done through fertility clinics, you canโt even move on to help your family without bearing a child. Piper has been through so many fertility tries and it has drained their money. Sheโs done trying. Then an opportunity comes up for her to bare the child of a different species, it is said that after you bare that child thereโs a 95% chance you can have more children. Be a surrogate for one child, leave the child with the father and come home and start your own family. Simple right? Once Piper got there, there was a little snag, she did not plan on Brax. First meeting him, and then finding out you can only get pregnant by doing it the old-fashioned way by his species. Piper didnโt know whether to cheer or cry. I loved the story, very descriptive and the characters you fall in love with. And when the happily ever after has a baby in it you canโt get much better than that.

Awesome story, loved the whole thing but especially liked the way it started. To write it so that thereโs two other women in on the special clinic, immediately means at least two more stories ๐ฅณ

I quite enjoyed this book. The only things I didn't like is the pregnancy was left until the end, like last chapter, when I expected it to happen sooner & be more of a focus than it was, & that $5 CAD seems a bit much for a 200 page book. Plus I never really like misunderstandings, but this time was fine since it didn't last very long. Overall I'd give it 4 stars & a 7/10. If you like fairly short alien romances with the goal to become pregnant(surrogacy) & has a misunderstanding or two, then I think you will enjoy this, especially if you can get it cheaper than $5 CAD. Maybe I'll check out the others, on sale or not, because I'm kinda interested to see if there is more pregnancy time or not in the other books.

Thank-you so much dear author! I think this is my favourite story so far. I adore Oberon. He reminds me of The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey. I know, he is an AI, not actually human. But he is lovely. Piper is so lovely. I liked Brax too. And all the other "staff" and friends plus family. I want to read more about everyone!
