These lights light up the buttom of my tv where the Phillip hue play tv lights didn't light up. Made my tv stand a part of the 8k synce box tv immersion on a whole other level.

As a single middle aged man this strip (along with the Hue light bulbs + bridge starter kit) allows me to indulge my love of Gen Z gamercore lighting, while being able to change to normal adult lighting before I even get home if I’m bringing a guest over. The Hue app is well-designed, with widgets so you can control the lighting from your homescreen. It also has a great set of premade lighting scenes. My cat prefers the “Rio” scene because he is sexy, I’m more of a “Tokyo” man myself. I have absolutely no criticisms to offer, setup had a few minor hiccups like any tech but everything works perfectly. Philips Hue lighting is expensive but so much better than the alternatives it’s worth saving for. Tip: if you need to trim this, it’s not immediately obvious where to trim from the instructions. If you peel the backing strip completely off, there are dark lines *barely* visible through the milky silicone/plastic cover, trim there. The marks on the adhesive backing do NOT line up with the places you can trim, at least on the one I got. You have to remove and throw away the entire adhesive backing to trim. Remember to keep the end cap from the trimmed section.

Overall I liked them. However, I had to return one strip because a section of the LEDs wasn’t making the correct color. Then, FOUR days after the return period ended, a single LED in the entire strip won’t light correctly and it’s very noticeable. (Edit) Got absolutely great help from Philips Hue support and the new light works perfectly!

I had one working and one had the symptom of only lighting up like 4 inches from the wire. Brought a third one just to also have the same issue. Swapped the small module and power bricks on both the DOA ones and they both fully light up and function. Not entirely sure how that works. Since the strip is 4 pin and the modules should basically function all the same roughly except for setting up hue and having an ID to know this strip is for the bedroom or living room.
