This is for the "Glazing" technique used in miniature painting.
I saw some poor reviews from people who seemed to think this was for pottery glazing, or some other purpose. This is intended to allow you to apply very thin, translucent layers of acrylic paint to a miniature. It allows you to get very saturated colors without obscuring details by applying thick coats of paint. It's very good for that purpose. I'll definitely be buying quite a bir more of it!

Good but only in specific instances
This putty works great IF you understand what you're getting and how you'll use it. First off, this putty DOES NOT dry rock hard as the description and bottle says it does. As others have said, it dries to a "rubbery" consistency and isn't really sandable. It is water soluble so you can remove excess putty with water. Knowing those two things, I use this putty for filling small gaps or fixing deep out of scale panel lines. Here's how I use this putty.I take a toothpick and cut one of the sharp ends off. I then take a pair of pliers and compress the end to make it flat, like a small trowel. I put a small amount of the Vallejo putty on the flat end of the toothpick and work it into the gap, adding more putty as needed. I wait about 10 - 15 minutes and wipe away the excess with a damp cotton swab, leaving the putty in the gap. The goal isn't to build up a large amount then sand it down but to get the putty into the gap where it can harden. To test the line, I airbrush a layer of black primer over the gap. If more filling is needed, I repeat the process. So far, I've been able to get pretty decent results.

I have been using this to thin my GW paints 1/1 and it has two excellent benefits. 1
I can't say enough about this product! I have been using this to thin my GW paints 1/1 and it has two excellent benefits.1. It acts as a mild retarder. I used to have issue painting the eyes on miniatures as the tiny amounts of white or black would dry on the brush before I could place it. This stuff helps keep the paint moist long enough to get the pain on the miniature!2. It works a bit better than water when thinning your paints for transparent blending, as it's a little bit thicker than water and gives you a bit more control over your thinned paint.

Good brush on acrylic varnish
This is nice brush on varnish. I use the gloss on the eye balls of beholders, spectators, and on those things that should have a wet look.

A Necessity
I used this to fill gaps between the seams of Bandai models. Sometimes even after sanding and press-fitting, gaps still appear. Applying this putty with a damp flat brush helps it flow into the gaps and fill them. You can easily wipe off the excess before it dries. When sanded and painted, the putty fill is barely noticeable. I recommend this to improve the overall look of your models.

Brought 8 Year Old Paints to Life
I got back into an old hobby and had old Citadel paints laying around. Half were completely dried out, but some were still salvageable.. Just threw in a number of drops into each and let it sit for a few days. Then a couple more drops, shaken, and it was good to go. Usually for fresh paints a 1:1 ratio is all you need.

Don't let it become out-dated.
Vallejo makes a... Mask. Whether in the 'pen-type' or this much better form. The 'pen-type' dries-up much faster and has caused me more problems due to this than any real masking tape or this, much-easier-to-use format. Buy this one and leave the 'pens' to be returned to Vallejo.

Best putty I've ever used
This putty is the best I've ever used. It flows smoothly and easily from the bottle and fills beautifully. There's no drying up at the end of a tube. I highly recommend this.

Plastic Fantastic.
Yet another Vallejo product that is worth the money. It comes in a runny, syruppy like consistency, that oozes from the bottle quite slowly. It's great for getting in to those small spaces that are thin and long, where the capillary attraction effect on this liquid means it kind of fills itself in to the hole.My only complaint with it, is if you accidentally squeeze too much out, it spreads and is a bugger to clean up !In spite of this, it's a very useful product that is quite like nothing else. When it sets, which doesn't take very long, you can sand it, texture it and then paint and varnish it. It's also pretty handy for using on bases to create texture.

My Go To Paint
Modellers are a tribal lot with preferences for paint, model manufacturers etc. Most of all paint. Now, I'm in that rare group who don't really have a huge opinion on each manufacturer because frankly every major brand I've used works well. Any problems are of my own making or the paint is ancient. However, my overall choice is Vallejo because of a few reasons. Firstly having returned to the hobby a few years ago I came across Vallejo paints in the super handy dropper bottles. A real revelation to someone who for years struggled with crusty Humbrol enamel pots. That immediately made me a little bit biased towards Vallejo.Next, Vallejo have a huge range of colours. More so than any other manufacturer and this makes colour matching any model easy. Now, the bit where people get hot under the collar and tribal. How good the paint is. Well, in my opinion Vallejo paint is excellent. I've never had any issues using it in five years apart when I make a mistake mixing to spray or the paint is old and lumpy. Even then I filter the paint and a couple of drops of flow improver and hey presto! Back to normal.Coverage is excellent. A couple of thin coats when spraying and a deep colour is obtained.Colour matching given the range of tones and variations is easy to obtain. This particular colour to my eyes matches well with the colours actually used when I compare to the real items in Bovington Tank Museum. I appreciated one has to also scale it to suit and in general a little lighter is often better for scale effect. This particular shade seems to work very well on a 1:35 scale panzer.Overall, my go to paint manufacturer.

Works Well
I bought this paint thinner to rescue my small set of Deco Art Americana All-Purpose Acrylic Paint Pot Value Pack 34 small colours which I'd left in the sun on my desk and had started to dry out. This thinner was able to rescue the ones that had not dried out too far. I still have around 2/3rds of it left after using what I thought was a lot of it, so it goes a long way. It is also low odour which I was thankful for as I'm very sensitive to chemical smells. Would recommend.

Sticky mess
TLDR; I do not recommend this product which will leave your model a sticky, orange peel covered mess.I recently decided to get back into model making after a 20 year hiatus, and as I had purchased some Vallejo acrylics recently and was satisfied with them, I thought I would stick to the brand and purchase their gloss and matt varnishes.First of all, forget airbrushing this stuff. No matter which thinning product you use, it will leave a bumpy, orange peel, sticky coat. I let it dry for 48 hours when apparently an hour should have done the trick. I then read that this varnish self-levels so painting it on with a brush was my next attempt. This was even worse and left visible brush strokes. Resigning myself to just covering this terrible finish with matt varnish, I then applied a burnt umber oil wash to my model and let this dry for 12 hours before wiping it off. As I was wiping it off, the varnish started to peel off and eventually even the paint underneath started chipping. As I was wiping the model it then slipped out of my hand and in a Warner Bros cartoon stylee, I then managed to fling the model across the room and against my kitchen wall. Smash. Project over. No survivors. I place the blame for this disaster worthy of an episode of Air Crash Investigators solely on this varnish. You know when they analyze the stages of the disaster and it turns out it was a worn nut or the wrong product had been used to clean the windshield? Yeah, this one will be "POOR QUALITY VARNISH USED".

Must have, best fine filler out there
I use this and also the Vallejo filler in a tube, which is the same stuff in a different applicator. It is fantastic for filling joins and small imperfections in models, and is easy to work with. The open time is good, allowing you to smooth and remove excess carefully. I use rubber colour shader brushes to move it around. You can also use water on a damp brush or rubber squeegee to smooth the filler further. Allow 24 hours to cure before flatting with fine wet & dry.I have also used this for building back up raised details, with careful sanding when cured.I would not recommend this for filling large holes however, as it is really just thick paint. for such applications, I use Revell Putty to build up the mass, then this filler to smooth out any roughness after the putty has dried fully.
