Total Pet Figure of 8 Dog Lead - Anti Pull Stop Dogs Pulling - Rope Slip Leads with Padded Nose Support (Black, Medium/Large)

This lead has transformed our walks. We have a 16month old Red Fox Labrador who is very strong and pulls especially when walking with the kids. This lead stopped her pulling immediately, she’s much calmer and has even stopped reacting to other dogs and people. It’s comfortable on her nose and doesn’t restrict her head or mouth so she can still pick up sticks and sniff around. It’s easy to get on and off unlike some others we have tried which were fiddly and stressed her out. The lead is good quality and strong. Would highly recommend!!

I don't usually leave reviews but I have been very impressed by this product and I'm happy to support a young, up-and-coming entrepreneur. This product is a great demonstration of keeping things simple. It takes a simple idea and adds some nice features on top to make it a high quality product. For example, the neoprene over the snout and the little buckle under the snout are very effective in terms of ensuring a comfortable fit for the dog and also a snug fit to give the owner piece of mind that it won't slip off easily. The addition of the extra clip is also a great idea. I can clip that onto my dog's harness for an extra layer of safety in case she does manage to get herself free of the lead itself. If that does happen, which is rare, the lead is still attached to her harness so there no fear of her getting loose and running out on a busy road or something like that. Simple, but very effective. I bought this lead as my dog, a miniature pincher, is just a puppy (7 months old) and tends to pull a lot and lunge at other dogs and even people sometimes which is never a good thing, especially when walking my kids to school with a lot of children and other dogs about. This lead has made an instant and significant positive impact on her behavior. She still has a lot to learn but this is a big step forward as she is already calmly trotting along beside us now. She rarely pulls the lead tight now, leaving it nice and relaxed for a comfortable and enjoyable walk! One other point that made a big difference for us: Being a miniature pinscher, my dog is quite small. Her head and snout are tiny. We had already shopped around for a Halti and visited a number of outlets but we were unable to find one small enough to fit our dog. This is the massive advantage of the Total Pet lead - it offers a lot of flexibility to ensure a proper, secure fit, even for a miniature breed. Also, I've used Halti's in the past and never really liked them as I found them a bit awkward - the Total Pet lead is definitely not awkward and is simple to use. Would love to eventually see this product on the shelves of the big pet outlets. I highly recommend it.

It does what it says on the tin and it stops pulling when out on a walk. I have a 9 month old 28kg lab who thinks he's part of a dog sled team every time we go for a walk! I would of given this 5 star however there are a couple of things that need to be redesigned i think. The metal part that seperates the lead under the dogs chin/mouth is a little chunky and sharp, cut mine off and just twisted the lead to create a hoop for the nose. The other thing that would be beneficial for this lead, would be a twist handle so that when the dog spins the lead doesn't get all knotted up. Other than that, it's made going on walks a lot easier and stress free

I have 2 rescue dogs, one that is very skittish and another who is overly confident and boisterous Both dogs pull excessively on a lead, with no regard as to whether they are choking themselves - Genuinely awful to walk as it is stressful for all involved. I’ve tried a halti before but they seemed quite uncomfortable and the dogs would fight to remove them - Saw these leads, and while they’re a little expensive - they’re worth every. single. penny I’m not gonna lie, neither dog likes them and for the first couple of walks they would fight to get them off but would fairly quickly accept it - and now they don’t really bother about them. You can tell they’re not overly happy with the situation, but they get more walks now as it’s just a much more pleasant experience for the walker - if not the walkee. We can walk with a loose leash, they can sniff to their hearts content, and even my 11 year old can control them now. The bit that goes over their nose is well padded, and the lead is simple to put on - it also has a backup clip in case they do manage to get the head piece off and the lead is really good quality - absolutely no downsides to the product itself I must admit, one of the dogs (the skittish one) does seem a bit down when wearing it… she’s less enthusiastic when we’re out, and maybe a little more anxious than usual but she gets plenty of time in the garden without wearing the lead to be a little more ‘free’ So while not especially perfect for my dogs, that’s more a ‘them’ problem than anything to do with this lead - as I say, it’s worth every penny to me and how much I enjoy walking them

This lead has been an absolute changer. With a standard figure of 8 lead he’d spend the entire walk pawing at his face and rolling on the ground trying to get it off, and halti head collars he’d end up getting completely tangled up in as he hated them so much. After less than 2 minutes of silliness he got used this lead and now walks like a different dog! It’s clearly comfortable for him, stops him pulling and is great quality. For the first time in 2 years he plods along happily next to us. It’s easy to get on and off and the lead it’s self is a good length.

The figure of 8 is not effective for dogs with a big head or thick neck. I have a bullmastiff and the loop around the nose comes off too easily. I can’t tighten it any further due to the metal clip digging into the excess skin she has under her chin. I removed the metal clip and use it as a normal slip lead and can still do a figure of 8 by just twisting it. Other than that it’s a good, strong lead. I like the length as it gives enough for her to have a bit of freedom without it being too much. It’s also easier to hold and doesn’t rub on my hands. It’s softer and more padded than my current figure of 8 lead so my dog prefers this one minus the metal clip!

This lead is nothing short of miraculous. We rehomed a very boisterous 2 yr old Beagle. On her harness he pulled like a train desperate to get to greet people and especially other dogs. She actually escaped from one harness by a busy main road in a bid to meet a pair of dogs on the other side. I read the reviews with a degree of scepticism to say the least but after a couple of walks (first one in an enclosed field) I can tell you this lead is a total game changer. She now walks very nicely on a slack lead. Virtually no pulling and far less barking and reactivity to people and dogs. The one small issue is that she HATES having the loop on her nose and will try to get it off a few times on each walk but I fully expect she will come to accept it over the coming days, especially with lots of praise and treats whenever she walks nicely. Don't hesitate just buy it and persevere for a couple of walks and you won't regret it.

I want to start by saying that this should be a fantastic lead for pullers. It has the comfy nose strip, rubber stop to keep lead tight, and the safety clip in case the dog slips the nose section. The lead is also a good length which allows the dogs a little freedom to explore before the nose section tightens. All of these features combine to give a lead that works well for dogs who are otherwise difficult to control. My dog is reactive to everything when on lead but this lead made it uncomfortable for him to lunge at passing cars etc. With lots of encouragement and time he now walks calmly most of the time. We’ve gone from only walking him off lead in enclosed fields to being able to walk him on lead in a local cemetery. Unfortunately, as the picture shows, the rubber stop has caused the lead to fray. I think I bought it about 4 months ago so it’s fairly disappointing on the quality front.

I used this on my 22kg Staffy and it works better than a traditional Halti because of the combination of slip lead and figure 8 halti. Actually, it is just fantastic. I am going to try on my 50kg mastiff cross and if it works will buy another one (currently using a prong collar). Not only the design works on dogs that pull, the product is solid and sturdy- great quality.
