Color Fetish Matte Lipstick

Great lipstick. I have several of these in different shades. It has a slightly matte finish but is not drying and stays on fairly well. Milani offers many fashionable shades. I highly recommend that you try this lipstick.

Color payoff? Check. Smith application? Check. Velvety feel? Check. Semi-matte without over-drying? Check. Impressive staying power? Check. The color Secret is one of my favorites. It’s definitely a dupe of more expensive department store brands (i.e. Pillow Talk). If you want glossy? Just add on top! I am in love.

My review for this order is not based on the product quality, rather the fulfillment of my order. In order to give a fair review of the product itself, let me start by saying this Milani lipstick is a great value. It is a very good quality lipstick without the high end price point. If you are looking for a matte lipstick that is true to a matte finish without the typical dry texture of other matte lipsticks, you will love this. The color is beautiful and its creamy texture makes it easy to apply, while still retaining a matte finish. Now, on to the reason for my poor review. I ordered a quantity of two of these lipsticks to stock up because I love this particular brand as well as the color and creamy matte texture. One of the two was in perfect shape, while the second was clearly damaged at some point in the warehouse BEFORE it was even packed for shipment. I don’t understand why Amazon does not have a better system in place to ensure the item is in good condition before it is shipped. This is the second time this has happened to me with orders placed in last two months. It is a waste of time and effort to have to call and/or send items back due to damage NOT caused in transit, but clearly damaged IN THE WHEREHOUSE so it should not have been shipped in the first place! The outer packaging was intact and in good shape upon arrival. The lipstick, however had clearly been tampered with. To start with, the safety seal was broken. Please see below photo of the two lipsticks side by side (one with safety seal intact, and one without). Upon removing the cap, one could clearly see that the lipstick had been smashed into the inside of the cap, destroying the tip of the lipstick.

I needed this color for a wedding and was not able to order from the website and receive the product in a timely manner. Lipstick received in perfect timing and the color is just what I was looking for. Unfortunately I did receive a damaged lipstick, as if the lipstick had been turned up and cap was put back on without twisting lipstick all the way back down. Lipstick was not sealed. Price was right and since I need it, I am keeping it. I used a lipstick brush to scoop out what was in the cap for trying out purposes. And again for the price, it’s a great lipstick. Color is deep and bright, moisturizing and not drying after being on lips for a few hours. It also stains the lips and I like this. Overall, though I would like perfection but what is perfect anymore. It is a bit concerning when a product is not sealed and looks like it was tampered with, but with time not in my side this week before an out of state wedding, I need to deal with what I have. It’s not drying and provides a moist, rich color pay off. I do recommend though buyer beware.

Purchased Color: Poppy Excuse the improper line up but I was incredibly excited to try this! Pros: True blue undertone red, which for us fair skinned queens we do adore. Orange undertone isn't as impactful, hence blue is our bestie. Cons: For me, it does dry my lips out after about 2-3 hours on. It is not food or sip safe, keep that in mind. Reapplication is 101% required. It seemed even when in a cold room, very easy to break if not a super soft light brushing lip technique applied. The safety seal was not on the entire product, only on the bottom you twist. Odd. Give it a try! I still love it even with the cons.

I don't often think something is a perfect 5 starts, but wowza. I got this today, did a wear test, forgot it was on, when I went to bed it was still looking good. Lips didn't dry out, color didn't bleed. Wow. Plus, this is a very pigmented, cool toned red that looks great against my pale skin even with rosacea. My teeth look so white! I've been searching for a good deep, cool red, and this so delivers. It's incredible! The formula goes on matte but not dry, and I prefer a matte look so I was in heaven. I'm getting more from this line... I have always loved Milani lipsticks, but I rarely wear lipstick anymore, so getting back into it was a little intimidating. I had nothing to worry about with these!
