This lovely book uncovers a host of women’s interpretations of sacred texts and provides a learned curation of the meanings conveyed by females mostly unfamiliar to us. The footnotes enable easy identification of sources.I find the print readable, the cover delightful, and the book beautifully produced. Anyone who needs larger print might consider purchasing the Kindle edition.

Schroeder and Taylor urge readers to consider that biblical interpretation is not, and has never been, a gendered practice. The wealth of examples included in Voices Long Silenced highlight how remarkable women have exposited Scripture through the centuries. Perhaps, those who embrace the myth that female biblical interpretation is a product of the twentieth century will, as the authors encourage, restore and record the testimony of women scriptural interpreters.

I was so excited when the book arrived but found that I couldn’t read it! The print was so small! The font size was smaller than that used in footnotes.Please reprint the book in larger, easier to read for all to enjoy.

I loved the factual stories of historical women who made their mark in history. This is not just about famous or well known women. This book is also about everyday and otherwise unknown women who had the courage to stand up and let their voice be heard, no matter what the consequences were. We are where we are as women today because they were where they needed to be, and said what they needed to say...for us!

Concise, informative, stimulating--A credible source for teachers and students. I was amazed at the inclusion of women biblical interpreters from different eras and regions. The voice that has been silent for a long time is now sounded.
