does this cable support data transfer at USB 3 speeds?

The previous question was partially true. USB 3 supports High Speed (480 Mbps), and that is what this supports. Even the pictures in the listing show this. If by USB 3 speeds you mean 5 Gbps, no it does not. An iPhone X enumerates on a 2018 MacBook Pro at 480 Mbps with this cable. Again, this is what the vendor even shows in the product listing. The benefit to this cable are directly connecting to a USB C computer, and to USB C PD power supplies. With USB C PD power supplies newer iPhones will fast charge.
