Great Decision!!!
The media could not be loaded. Having researched obsessively for the right incubator for my needs and price point I decided on the Little Giant with quail racks. I followed the hatching instructions. Hatch day arrived and do did the tornadoes. The power went out. (have a back up plan) The temperature dropped to 80 degrees and I was sure all were lost. Finally the tornado sirens went off and I slept for 6 hours and heard something inside and looked in and one was alive, but obviously cold. I immediately put it in my car and drove 10 miles to my father in-laws home and plugged it in. Many were pipping and the temperature started coming back up. The next day I had 46 happy quail, then 12 more, then another 10. I had a 75% hatch rate and I KNOW the temperature dropped had to affect some that did not. Follow the instructions and have a secondary temp/humidity gauge inside. I did have to up the thermostat up to 100.5...but that's certainly no big deal at all. This was my first hatch....and I'm so glad I made the correct decision.

A lot of improvements needed
I've had this incubator for over 2 years now. The first year, temps and humidity were semi accurate most of the time. The second year the temps and humidity were wildly inaccurate and inconsistent causing massive hatch fails from beginning to end. This is the third year, and the digital screen doesn't even work anymore. For this price point, a better product should definitely be provided! There are cheaper, albeit smaller, incubators that do the required job much better. I would rather use a smaller incubator and have better and more consistent hatch rates, than a bigger more expensive one that costs me more money in the end.

Worked great at first
The media could not be loaded. Bought February 26, 2025 and now April 1, 2025 it won’t hold the temperature and I’m losing chicks. I’m super upset 😭.

Simple and effective
This incubator is simple and a reasonable price. The styrofoam insulation helps it maintain steady temperatures, the fan maintains even temperature. Right from the box it is configured to run at the ideal temperature for chicken eggs; you can of course program a different temperature. The egg turner is very good, it allows you to place eggs pointed end down and I seem to get better hatch rates than my 3x more expensive does-everything RCom incubator that rolls eggs on their sides. One negative is the 'turkey baster' method of adding water to adjust the humidity. Another negative is that one of three of these had needed a new circuit board after just one use (I replaced it for $40). The wiring is a bit untidy and you'll likely end up using a power strip for the two plugs. You'll have to remember to remove the egg turner once in "lockdown" at 18 days. Being late on that timing can kill some hatching chicks by opening the top to lower humidity. This incubator is simple and maintains temperature well, it is a reasonable value. Hatch rates will be good unless you are late on lockdown timing.

This little incubator is a GREAT!
I have been using a similar, but much older incubator for years. This year it became unreliable and felt I needed to replace it one week into my incubation process. I purchased this little gem and have been THRILLED with its accuracy and consistent temperature and humidity levels. I placed my temperature and humidity monitor in it as well, and found it only varied by one degree! As others have reported that the humidity had tended to drop off abruptly, I watched it carefully. I was thrilled to find that it stablized and maintained humidity within a percent or two! I kept the vent covers in place nearly all of the time. If started to fluctuate more, I dropped 1/2 of a damp sponge in the side area and it brought the right back up to perfect. (Of course you need to add water but not nearly as often as my other incubator) As my eggs are still processing, I have not cleaned it so I did not rate that, but imagine that it will be as easy as can be. I would highly recommend this incubator and wished that I had purchased it sooner!

Negative reviews are misleading.
The media could not be loaded. I read a lot of the positive and negative reviews for this item. I was skeptical about it but bought it anyway. I put sixteen eggs in the incubator after ignoring the instructions where it says to set it up for three days to confirm the operation. I let it run for an hour before adding eggs. I candle my eggs after seven days and all eggs had signs of growth. The second week one egg was not viable. I am currently on the last day of hatching, I put eggs in for three days in a row, and 9 have hatched and is doing well. There is three that have pips and should hatch tonight. There are three eggs that I am not sure if they will hatch. Once the three eggs with pips hatch will have 75% hatch rate. Some of the negative reviews I contribute to a faulty controller or user error. Any complaints about hatch rate are no fault of the incubator. There is no guarantee that the eggs you incubate will be fertilized and viable. If you want to hatch eggs without the extreme cost of a professional incubator then this unit is perfect for you. After using this incubator I believe a styrofoam incubator is the way to go. The plastic ones will not hold temperature as well. The egg turner was awesome as well. It rotates 45° one way and then back. My little giant was unplugged one night near the end of incubation and it only got down to 80°.

All incubators lie about the temperature
Had it for months and the heating element went bad like things do so I called little giants and they sent replacement parts same day had them for years and I will continue to buy them I have to admit I have 5 going at all times
