Varathane wood stains are great. I was very happy to find this available on Amazon. Ordered three different replacements and went to work right away. I even mixed some of the Spring Oak and Red Oak stains, in proportion to get the desired colour effect on matching an existing door. I noticed the various tints from the minerals in the wood/wood grain coming out, and I managed to achieve better depth and clarity with mineral based semi-gloss topping/coating. Am very happy with the results.

The stain is a perfect match !
As far as this matching up to my nightstand and bedroom set this headed out of the park for me! My problem because I am a novice. Seeking advice here. My issue is the particle board that is a middle (yes, probably shouldn't of stained it or rigorously sanded, again , a complete novice) is there any way possible to repair the partical board? Thank you in advance for any help or advice, like I said , complete novice! Update: I added a few more coats to the side top and used retique it for the middle 3 coats because it has wood in it then stained the top of it with the same spring oak stain. I used varathane semi gloss to seal. I just love how or came out! Very pleased!
