Better than the rubber ducky, and easier to modify slightly for even more protection
AMZN Logistics pooched the delivery, so I ordered off of well known auction site.Right out of the shipping box, I could tell that these were going to last a lot longer than the rubber ducky that comes with the 888 radio. I decided to use some large heat shrink and shrunk it around the antenna but left a half inch or so sticking up to act as a shock absorber. After all, the most protected radio is cushioned by the antenna after a fall. I also used an oring in the bottom to help strengthen that interface, and to help keep the antenna from coming loose during use. Performance wise, it does a lot better than the rubber duckies that are being used by others around me. We have had other radios set right beside mine (others have duckies), and my radio is first to break squelch and has better sound. Not sure how it would hold up compared to a brand new ducky, but I am pleased so far.

Performs well on .7cm TX/RX. This is decent at RX on other bands.
NSKI 2Pcs SRH805S SMA-F Female Dual Band Antenna for BaofengThis little thing works surprisingly well for me. I tried it out with local repeaters. On 2 meters a dummy load will get out better for transmit, this is good as an RX antenna on that band. On 70cm this thing (was made for and) does well. I can 'hit' a 70 cm repeater 10 miles away with 4 watts. Unfortunately, I'm not able to transmit audio (signal too weak), I can only break squelch. On a 70cm repeater that is 3 miles away, with 1 watt from my HT I sound scratchy. On the same repeater/HT with 4W I get excellent quality audio onto the repeater. I find that rather amazing. I just placed another order for this product. For $/use these are 5 stars. The db rating given in the specs needs a minus sign in the front. ;)

Worked great!
First of all, the longer the antennae the better (tailored to your respective band of course). But, if all you need is a reliable, walkie-talkie type that you are going to use close range, like off-roading...this works great. And best of all, these are so compact and rigid, you don't have to worry about the bulk, length or fragility of longer ones.It works best for a particular application.

Better than the stock antenna for the Baofeng UV-5R
I actually got these to boost the range of a couple of Baofeng 888-s radios, but ended up replacing the stock antenna on my UV-5R with one of them. I'm impressed with the improved clarity of the signal - It's much easier to hear and understand the police transmissions on the scanner. I can't attest to whether or not it actually increases the range of the radio, but it certainly makes the reception clearer.

Better Than The Rubber Stubbies
Bought these to replace the stubby rubber ducks I got for my Baofengs but those constantly lost the rubber covers. These are solid practice and work great for their limited ability as a stubby antenna. Fit my Baofengs well and I'd recommend them.

They are compact, and robust, they don't catch ...
They are compact, and robust, they don't catch on anything at work, with these little antennas we can move very freely through out our facility, and know we have a functional radio when we need it, and that it won't allow the signal to bleed out too far past our facility.

Not better than OEM.
Few dollar shot in the dark.Very dark. They do not work better.I feel 75% of transmissions are iffy with this antenna vs the orignal basic 4-5".
