This is a simple way to secure belongings in your center console. If you use the correct Torx screws to mount it, it can be a bit safer just because they can be hard to find the right bit. I would say it isn't secure enough for a handgun or such but it will probably make a thief pass on your Jeep and move on to another with less security. The one complaint is that you need the key to pull up to open the console, a ring handle around the keyhole like some competitors have would be nice.

Feels secure, although a dedicated thief can tear open the plastic of the console. Only small gripe is it could use a small knob or latch or just some little something to open the lid when unlocked. I'll probably just magnet a little handle on but by default you need to use the key as there is nothing else to pull on.

Considering this is literally a fraction of the price of some alternatives on other Jeep enthusiast sites, this is amazing.Pros:-seems to be made of durable high-quality steel.-Easily accommodates my Glock 17C-Lines up to the holes already drilled into the center console.Cons:-As many of the reviews have mentioned, the screws that come with this are tool short/are Phillipshead screws(making it kinda easy for thieves to bypass it, break into it.*BUT seriously? Just spent $20 total buying a box of 1.5 inc-long tamper-resistant Starkey screws and a tube of red loctite at Home Depot, and it's rock solid. No one's breaking into this compartment(short of disassembling the entire center console or cutting into it).For $40 vs the $150 jeep shops are charging for something similar, this is a solid purchase.

This is way better than some of the negative reviews would have you believe. Stout steel construction and fit my 2024 Rubicon like a glove. To secure the safe I used 4 one way security screws (1" in length, a little longer than what came out) that are all but impossible to remove, so no worries about the safe being easily stolen. Of course the Jeep console is plastic so a determined thief with enough time and destructive abilities could eventually remove it, but that would take some time and effort. I added a simple opening knob by using a 1" x 1/4" carriage bolt, the smooth round bolt head looks great and is a 10 min job. Overall 100% satisfied, a secure safe with easily duplicated keys and way less expensive than many others.
