A fantastic little chess computer! This ideal for travel as there are no little pieces to lose and no other distractions to your play, as with a mobile phone chess app. The simple sprites (pictures of the pieces) are easily identifiable, especially on the back-lit screen. I have the same sprites on my Chess Genius Pro, however, the screen on this handheld is significantly larger and easier to read without the need for a physical chessboard. The menu can be a little confusing at first, but fortunately a full manual is supplied in the box, which covers all the settings. When you switch the unit off, it retains your current game and all your settings, which I love. I personally decided to also purchase an Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Case, (pictured) which fits the unit nicely, providing more protection to the unit than the supplied cardboard box it comes in. Great chess on the move, worth the money!

On the positive side, the unit is easy to use and plays chess much as you would expect. However, on the downside I would have preferred the chess pieces to be more "traditional" in design. As they are, holding the device about a foot away it's not easy to tell the difference between a bishop and a rook - I've lost a few games making that simple mistake!

Difficult to make out pieces

I bought this for a Xmas present so I cannot review it at the moment but give it four stars as it arrived promptly

I liked the size and the pointer, to use the item. And the Instructions at the end of the stylus you press if you don’t know how to proceed, good to keep in your pocket/ play and improve your game.magic.

Primitive, dated technology and over priced for what it is. But works well enough if you invest the time to learn the meaning of random codes and interfaces.

Die Figuren kaum zu erkennen. Mit dem Eingabestift reagiert das Gerät nur ganz selten die Figuren zu bewegen. Ich muss es zurück senden, leider, weil es unbrauchbar ist.

Mon fils voulait jouer aux échecs mais personne, à la maison, ne sait y jouer. Je lui ai donc fait ce cadeau à noël qui lui a vraiment plu. Le petit plus est que ce jeu ne se limite pas aux échecs mais comprend d'autres jeux. un bon rapport qualité./prix pour l'amusement apporté

Tous est écrit en anglais, on cherche la notice en français. Incompréhensible pour un adulte alors pour un enfant qui ne parle pas anglais. C'était un cadeau de Noël, l'enfant et bien déçu
