Not Chow's best
This is an older Stephen Chow movie, so the special effects are lousy and the story line is jumpy. The dialogue is fast and the story makes many references to different Chinese myths and legends. If you're not familiar with at least some Chinese and Chinese culture, it can be difficult to understand. It's in Mandarin not Cantonese as it was originally shot. The English translation is lazy and uses many PG-13 rate curse words.

Traditional Comedy Film
The premise of the film is some gods/faeries arguing what is right and wrong in their meddling with the mortals. It was understood that each mortal has a fate and cannot be changed. So one of the gods/faeries decides to go down to Earth and attempt to change the fate to prove the other gods/faeries wrong. This is a traditional Stephen Chow comedy, which of course includes all the funny scenes you'd expect.

Now THIS is truly bad. Many parts are just gross and uncomfortable to watch

I like it.
It was a fairly nice story based on some Chinese traditional fairy tale. It would be more suitable for those viewers with some Chinese cultural background. I indeed enjoy it very much.

Bring back memories
Watched it when I was a child. Stephen Chow is still my favorite now in 2020.
