Perfect Kits with the Better Grade (316) Stainless and Super Dollar Value
I have used only a handful of screws since purchasing 4 different kits. I have a large Hatteras and a small Boston Whaler. When one is in a wet environment it is best to use stainless steel hardware. When you are in salt water or near the ocean, your stainless steel should be 316 grade. If you buy the lower grade, your fasteners may last only a few years. If you buy hardware at ACE, Home Depot or Lowes, you most likely are buying the lower grade stainless. If you shop at West Marine their hardware is typically the 316 grade but you really pay a high price. All I can do is explain that I bought these kits based upon quality and quantity being an excellent deal.

Nice kit
Nice variety of sizes. Has come in handy many times already. Hopefully the screws will hold up to a marine environment.

Convenient, Trip Saver
Nice assortment of SS machine screws in basic sizes. When you need stainless, its not like you can use your random coffee can of misc hardware. Will definitely save a few trips to the hardware store, very convenient to have on hand.

Pricey, but handy.
These are pretty pricey for what you get, but they are top quality. I wish they sold refills for the various sizes.

Do not buy unless you have a good hacksaw
When using the same manufacturers lock nuts, about half of these have the lock nuts seize up about 1/2" down the bolts. Could be the bolts or the lock nuts, but the combination of their products doesn't work. The lock nuts tend to go about half way down the bolt then seize and won't go up or down. Net results was a lot of wasted time and sending them back - - defective. And, to be clear, the matching threads and size were being used.

Stainless steel will gall, must lube before assembly
Thread stainless lock nuts to stainless screw slowly and with anti-seize. Will gall (threads chips off) and parts are cold welded together. Nylocks on stainless are the worst. Lube and go SLOW to reduce friction and heat.
