I wouldn't buy it again
If you buy this as your first tub (like I have), I am sure you will be happy with what you get for your money. It's easy to set up and looks good.On a not-that-warm night, we had it set to 31 degrees, but needed to turn up the heat, so set it to 35. It reached 33 before we'd had enough (maybe an hour), so I don't know how long it would take to go higher. I also couldn't tell how long it takes from zero, because for the initial fill I relied on our hot tap, assuming that would be both quicker and cheaper. Set up and first use was possible within six or seven hours that way.For the set up, I'd also advise skipping the flimsy, and somewhat pointless, included ground sheet, in favour of getting some foam interlocking mats. What I did. I went for 20mm thickness knowing that would be between me and the patio floor. It was comfortable but I don't know if thinner would be.The unit was quiet but obviously things got a lot more noisy when the jets were turned on. Not unbearable though. Mainly the water noise itself. Sorry, I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first hot tub use.The jets/bubbles surprised me because the small holes around the base didn't look much. It was good and added to the experience, but I am guessing you are not going to get much of a hydro massage without putting money into some real kit.The control panel was simple and easy to use, so that's a plus, but maybe actually a little too basic. I don't think there is any option for complicated heat settings. It is just set the temp and then on or off. If I am only using once a week I'm not sure about heating it so high for the other six days. I'd prefer a lower maintenance temperature and turn it up for when I expect it to be used. After only one use, so I cannot comment on the longevity of the product, I still would not actually buy it again for a few reasons.1. The wifi app control feature.I thought this would be good but have been left less than impressed. As someone that values privacy I was concerned as to why I should need to register an account requesting name, date of birth, and address details before I could do anything. Not necessary in my opinion and pure data gathering (you are presented with an 'allow marketing and third parties' tick box when doing this). The app itself just doesn't connect, even when you have gone through this step to access the features. The FAQ section on the app doesn't work (blank page) so expect no help there. You can see the url of the app (clevercompany.com) but that page presents you with a login page branded in BMW and Mini logos. All seems dodgy and sets off security alarm bells. Very unprofessional.Frankly, I'd just prefer a bluetooth connection, especially as the tub is just outside in the garden but close to the house. I gather the wifi is so you can control it while at work but I am extremely unlikely to ever use that. Still, I can't use it anyway if it never connects.2. The built in control unitI thought this looked better than other tubs with the big external heater units, and it does. However, without a remote control or app control ability, it quickly because a nuisance. If I want to turn anything on/off up/down or just check the temperature, I have to unwrap the thermal cover (not part of the kit - a separate purchase) and remove the hot tub lid just to gain access to controls. It is a bit of a faff to be honest. I now believe a separate unit would make such simple tasks easier.3. Don't believe the body countI bought the 6 person tub in case my wife wanted a night with her friends. Not really my thing. However, it's clear when you sit in it that four people would find it cosy and I doubt six would actually fit. If they did, you'd probably be having fun in an overly intimate fashion.4. It's not exactly relaxingBecause this is a round tub and you are directly on the floor, four of you will only fit if you sit cross-legged at each compass point. That's hardly relaxing. To stretch you legs out, without intertwining, would mean some awkward balancing against a round side. For that reason, I kind of wish I'd gone for the square version. Problem is though, when you sit on the floor with your legs out they want to just float up, so it's hard to balance without wedging your feet against a side. This is all, I am sure, a problem with every inflatable tub though, unlikely just this one.5. Mind the filterThe filter is placed inside the tub, where you sit, so watch out for it. I don't know if other inflatable tubs are the same but assume this is because this tub has an in-built control unit. I'd expect external units have an internal filter, which I'd consider better, but have no experience to back up that assumption.6. Not sure how I will empty itThere's a rubber plug, and I think it has a screw cap on the outer side, that is placed underneath the tub. This means there's a bump at the edge, although that's a small point and, it is close to the filter so you're going to be trying to keep away from it already. The bigger concern is that, although it is at the edge of the tub, since it is actually underneath, I am expecting it is going to be hard to access when the tub is filled and, if I do get access, probably water is simply going to start gushing out without ability to attach something that might direct it into a drain. Hopefully I am wrong, but I'll probably use my spare pond pump to drain it when the time comes.
