Good SSD for Editing
Great little hard drives for quick transfers and raw photo and video editing with no lag. I just wish they were a little cheaper like they used to be. That being said, they are stable and reliable. I'd recommend if you need something that's fast and reliable for editing.

Fast and reliable!
I recently purchased the Samsung T7 Shield SSD for use with my Blackmagic Pro 6K camera, and my experience has been nothing short of remarkable. Initially, I encountered a hiccup as the first SSD unit arrived dead on arrival. This was undoubtedly disappointing, but the replacement process was smooth and hassle-free, which speaks volumes about the customer service. The second SSD, however, worked like a charm right out of the box. The compatibility with my Blackmagic Pro 6K camera was seamless, offering a significant upgrade to my workflow. The read and write speeds are incredibly fast, ensuring that I don't miss a beat while shooting high-resolution footage. The SSD's robustness and durability are also noteworthy, as the T7 Shield is designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor shooting and challenging environments. I was particularly impressed with its compact size and lightweight design, making it extremely portable and a perfect fit for on-the-go shooting scenarios. Additionally, the heat management of the device is excellent, maintaining optimal performance even during extended use. While the initial DOA issue was a setback, the overall performance and reliability of the Samsung T7 Shield SSD have been outstanding. It has proven to be a reliable companion for my professional camera setup, enhancing both the efficiency and quality of my work. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Samsung T7 Shield SSD to any professional videographer or photographer looking for a high-performance, durable, and reliable storage solution. The exceptional performance it delivers, especially in tandem with high-end equipment like the Blackmagic Pro 6K camera, makes it a worthy investment. Five stars for a product that ultimately lives up to its promises, despite the initial hiccup.

Great product.
Works perfectly/seamlessly on my iMac and MacBook Pro. It's speedy, durable and very convenient to have. I have not noticed any heat issues with this drive even when copying large amounts of data. Good product.

Excellent Fast SSD for Phone and Laptop
Great SSD. I got the 2TB version and honestly couldn’t be happier. The price is solid, the brand is reliable, not some random no-name drive. The rubberized casing feels durable and comfortable, and it handles everyday use without issues. It comes with a USB-C high-speed cable, and the transfer speeds are exactly what you expect — fast. What I love most is how natively it connects. My phone detected it instantly as external storage. I just select my photos and videos, tap “copy originals,” and everything moves over in seconds. I use it mainly to unload large video files from my gallery — copy, delete from the phone, and move on. No glitches, no surprises, just pure speed and convenience. If I had to mention one thing to improve, it would be amazing if this SSD had built-in MagSafe. Being able to snap it to the back of the phone would take convenience to another level. But that’s just a wish, not a complaint. Five stars from me — really satisfied.

Pricy but solid
An excellent portable external hard drive that combines speed and durability. It offers fast transfer speeds and is built to withstand everyday wear and tear. Its compact size makes it easy to carry in a pocket or backpack. While it is a bit pricey, the strong build quality makes it well worth the investment.

Durable and reliable
Perfect for my dj set up and quick reliable use for my music, when I first purchased it it was $136 which now it’s pretty expensive, but great stability.

Very stable data transfer with high quality and durability.
Overall pleased the Samsung, SSD T7 Shield. I feel the documentation for the way to partition the drive space could have been better. I have worked in software and hardware so I figured the best way via googling the best way to allocate space and how to best size the partitions. It is very small and secure. Cables are good quality Speed of drive is good. Very stable data transfer.

A decent substitute for the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro Portable SSD V2 until Sandisk fixes them...
I do a lot of backups, and I've been backing up computers to hard drives for a very long time. As different external drives move to prominence, I move to them. Samsung SSDs I had used as internal drives, but the first class of SSD I used for external drives were the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro V1 & V2 portable SSDs. These drives were absolutely phenomenal! I literally bought a dozen of them over many years. But then, in the past 18 months or so, Sandisk released a bad batch of them that lost user data! So until they fixed the issue, I couldn't risk buying one, so I tried the Rugged T7 - which seems like the closest substitute. It's a fine drive to compare to the old Extremes. It's a little bigger and heavier, but that's because it's rugged, and I love that. I love the rubber feel. Samsung generously gives you two full cables to use with it - one with USB-A and one with USB-C. The packaging was really cool, but I'm one of those people who likes to store the drive and cable in the original packaging, and the box is pretty huge for that. This isn't an issue at all if you want to just store the drive separately. So why do I only consider this a good drive until Sandisk gets back on their feet again? Simply because it's a lot slower than the Extremes. For people coming from rotating disks, they will be very impressed, but this is more like a gen1 SSD drive. Using an APFS formatted volume with USB-C and an Apple M1 Max laptop, on BlackMagic I consistently got 825 MB/second read and 633 MB/second write. With the Extreme, I never dropped below 1,000. (Except in real world transfers, where everyone falls and seek rates are more important.) I haven't done a backup yet with one of these and my M1 Max, so as soon as I do, I'll update this with a comparison. But so far, this looks to be a fine drive. And It's OK fast - going faster is more of a luxury item. Since I cannot at the moment recommend Sandisk drives due to the huge scandal, I whole heartedly recommend this Samsung rugged T7 as the next best thing. And it's at a great price, too - I got the 4TB for just $250. I guess with that in mind, being slower is fine. :) Fingers crossed that companies will solve the technology issues that have been holding back 8TB drives.

Premium quality, super fast
Surprisingly small form factor, fit into the palm of your hand and had a rubberised premium feel to it. When paired with an adequate USB C port, it offers super fast read/write speeds. Comes with a small USB C to C cable. Would have really liked it if they would have bundled a small pouch for the drive and cable.

Lightweight and Compact
Great little product, gotten at a good price during the Black Friday Sales.. Small and handy, this thing works with mobile devices as well. Speed of transfer is about 80Mbps using type A to C cable. Should be faster if using type C to C. Would definitely recommend this product to all.
