Some promising features but I can not recommend this light.
I was excited to try this light. I commute 20 miles a day a majority of which is a bike path. I share the path with other trail users at night. I liked the idea of being able to turn the light down when approaching other users with the remote so I did not have to take my hands of the bars. The light had a good spill over the path and I could ride at 20 mph on the medium setting with out overrunning the light on a semi-lit path. The optic was designed in a way that may not blind oncoming trail users as much. I stood in front of the light and it was still unpleasant to have it come at you. Unfortunately the switch on the remote has now failed. I have used the light twice at night in 40 F dry weather. The light was not taken in the rain. The cord to the remote was not stretched. The switch was probably cycled a couple dozen times. The UI for the light modes was ok but not what I would have chosen for a commuter light. I do not think this light would be bright enough for off road use and I do not think that was the intention. In my short time with the light its clamp has spun on my bars twice and I needed to tightened it and the retention screw for lateral movement has come loose once and needed tightened. I am glad I still have time to return this item. The CR500 has some promising features with the remote less obtrusive optic and good spill but between the switch durability and the UI of the light modes I would pass.

Works well attached to my helmet for night mountain biking ...
Works well attached to my helmet for night mountain biking (for which I also use the PR1200 attached to my handlebars), and for night time running when connected to a head strap with mount. No issues after multiple rides/workouts.

Pure Brilliance!
Absolutely brilliant compared to my 9yr old flash/constant AAA powered light. As you can see in one pic, it looks like I didn't even have any light on!! This is a no-brainer as the term goes. I had to go out that night when I got it delivered to check it out. It's not THE brightest out there obviously, as looking at the lumens etc there are many way higher than this. I was looking at £40 being my limit due to the local high street car/cycle superstore having their own branded one at that price which has higher stats.Battery life is unknown but with rechargeable devices you simply charge when you return. The 2nd brightest output was more than enough I thought and that lasts for approx 3hrs.My only gripe is the securing clamps these days are all done using rubber bands. You have to buy a purpose clamp style if you want 110% security. The band should last for some time anyway but isn't the same as the clamp in the picture. I will change it in the future.

Powerful
Great product, does what it says on a tin. Powerfully enough for night rides giving plenty of light.
