We still need DVD, CD and Blu-Ray types of drives.
With the disappearance of CD and DVD type of media, they don't realize the need for this type of drive still exists. we all have lots of this media that can last s long time. We still need these drives to access it. This unit works very well.

Complicated, and you should be knowledgeable beforehand about using such things.
This item is well-built, and may work for those who don't mind jumping through a lot of hoops to rip their CD collection to their computer. It is a crying shame that the industry decided for us that CDs were becoming obsolete. Most people feel the CD was the best thing to ever happen to recorded music. Suddenly, even a hundred thousand dollar car has no CD player offered. So, we have to work around that using costly streaming or USB drives. But know that there are less complicated burners than this one out there
