Suggested title: Excellent wireless MIDI transmitter: fast and lag-free. It’s a really good product. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions you might have before buying: Does it work directly with your phone's Bluetooth? No 😔. It doesn't pair that way due to its transmission technology. Is it easy to use? Yes! 👍 It is a completely plug-and-play device. Is there audio lag? It has low latency; there is practically no noticeable delay. What’s in the package? It consists of two wireless modules: a transmitter (Part A) and a receiver (Part B). How was the shipping? It arrived in just one day, with excellent packaging and in perfect condition. ⚠️ Important note: The cable integrated into Part A (the transmitter) is quite thin. I recommend handling it with great care to avoid damage. Aside from that construction detail, it is a fantastic MIDI transmitter that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

For ages, I did not have the ability to change the preamp levels from my board because of the complicated midi boxes made from the past. This one simple you plug it in and you're done. Do your midi set up for two preamps: 1 to 2 ~2 to 1 and you're good to go?After a very minimal time, unplugging it twice, the USB cable failed at the tip.. I don't think this is a serious problem in the manufacturing, but I'm returning it for another one. It's kind of a shame though because it just pulled out. It wasn't broken. We're going to try another one and see what happens.

Highly recommend, I burned through a few wireless midi solution and non Connected with the Sonicake Pocket Control , this paired flawless at first trial and auto connects when powered on and connection is stable too…For the price this is a winLatency want noticeable which is a good thing it’s pretty snappydurable design and flexible enough to fit almost anywhere.

Today: update to original review below and I change from 3Stars to 4Stars: Operator error. I'll blame Yamaha for lack of documentation regarding getting MIDI setup in the MM8 keyboard. Turns out I needed to set "EXT SYNC" ON to get MIDI transmissions from keyboard to computer working with the FORE USB-MIDI interface. Also, for the other direction, EXT SYNC On or OFF doesn't matter (for PC transmit to keyboard) go figure. My best guess is the MM8 was transmitting SYNC until i turned EXT SYNC ON. In any case, Great it works!However, the BLUE LED that indicates receiving MIDI from keyboard (see below regarding No GREEN LED in my unit) is always blinking regardless of keyboard activity or idle? And then when busy transmitting MIDI it doesn't change its ~3Hz blink rate either...the BLUE LED (which should be GREEN) showing MIDI transmissions from computer to keyboard works fine and is normally OFF when idle, flashes appropriatly with the MIDI messages.So LED issues are my reason for 4 stars and not 5.In the 5 day interim I bought and received the $40 Roland USB-MIDI interface. Same thing at first: no keyboard MIDI transmit to computer and its Receive LED was always on. This is what prompted me to start wiggling buttons and try anything: EXT SYNC turned ON was the key for me and my MM8. Note the Roland receive LED is normally OFF unless I'm playing my keyboard and transmitting MIDI to computer, and blinks appropriately with MIDI messages.5 days ago: my FORE installed into Windows 10 64b seamlessly upon connection. I then connected to my Yamaha MM8 Keyboard and with a little effort within my DAW software was able to get MIDI transmissions from Computer/DAW working fine. Also figured out how to add in Program Changes: good fun. However, when I connect Yamaha MIDI-OUT to FORE MIDI-in I hear a 60-cycle hum in my Yamaha audio and the Blue MIDI Receive Data LED in the FORE blinks at about a 2Hz rate implying my keyboard is transmitting MIDI. It is not and I double-checked the SYNC (external clock) was OFF. The hum makes me think the FORE's receive jack has a short-circuit in it. No, it's not my cables as I did a proper trouble-shoot swap with no effect.Amazon tech support supplied me with a 2-page install guide not found anywhere on the web and this is where I learned that my unit should have a GREEN LED indicating MIDI-out from my computer: NO, both my traffic LEDs are BLUE. Power LED (USB 5V Power) is RED as it should be). So my unit built on an off day at the CM where it was too much trouble to procure GREEN LEDs and, "Just build them with GREENs." was the executive decision of the day. I'd live with the BLUE if Receive worked. I'll just move up the food chain and buy the highly rated Roland Interface for $40.00It works in 1 direction and cost $15.00 = 3 Star Review.p.s. for those confounded by the OUT and IN markings on the cable ends, MIDI has always been like this since the early 1980's of its birth: Computer/Sequencer MIDI-out connects to Instrument MIDI-in. Instrument MIDI-out connects to Computer/Sequencer MIDI-in. Thought of this way it makes sense.

I get a LOT of electronics parts, cables and adapters from Amazon but rarely write reviews. I'm compelled to do this one based on the excellent exchange I have just had with the seller. I build experimental instruments, and was having a connectivity issue with this cable, which is odd since I have never had any problems with this product and run it constantly on 3 devices and intermittently on 3 more. A real head scratcher. The short story is the cable performs flawlessly when connected to any midi device with that is properly wired to usb midi jack pins 2,4 and 5. I had a couple of devices that weren't but worked with another midi cable so my first thought was the cable was bad. I contacted the seller, who responded immediately with a quick connection instruction and also user tips from another user that was utilizing at least part of the same type of signal chain I was attempting. He also offered on the spot to replace or refund the cable cost. This made me think he was absolutely confident in his product, and since I have a bunch of them I was too, so assumed user error on my part or something else was going on. I tested the cable on another device that runs the same cable, and of course it worked perfectly. So now we know the device is the issue and not the cable. Subsequent investigation identified the problem, I corrected it, and now the is sonic joy. I contacted the seller, who again responded immediately and was so gracious! A great experience. Highly recommend the product and seller - he sets a standard for customer service that is the best I've encountered in 20 years of Amazon exchanges!

Alright took a shot with this one as I didn’t see that many reviews for this particular model. I spent about $25 on it which is noticeably cheaper than many other options. It has a switch on it which you can change to act as either an IN or an OUT. I only ever use the OUT on my keyboard which corresponds to IN on the S1. I’ve never used Bluetooth MIDI so I didn’t know what to expect.It’s reassuring that I can also use the S1 wired and not just Bluetooth as a fail safe. I hope I can continue to do so after the battery eventually dies.The connectors seem to be silver instead of gold if that matters to anyone. We’ll have to see how it holds up with time, especially since it uses a battery. In my use case though, I’m planning on mainly keeping it plugged in though. I’m unsure if I can just keep it on all the time as long as I have it plugged in. If I find out I’ll let yall know.Latency seems to be more than acceptable. I would be comfortable playing live with this level of latency, much better than I expected with Bluetooth. I know Bluetooth earbuds are a big no for music production but this seems acceptable.My only gripe is that how the port on my piano is oriented, I cannot turn off the S1 without unplugging it. The switch is facing up when plugged in which is pressing against my piano. A bit of a hassle but I’m hoping I can just leave it on the IN position and charging. The S1 does not work when in the OFF position, even when plugged in. See the manual in my photo for more info.Edit: I have one more con that I’ve found. Some reason, it does not charge with a USB-C to USB-C cable, only a USB-C to USB-A cable. Ok I talked to support about this one and apparently it doesn’t support USB PD or something like that. You’ll either need to use just a 5V brick or use a usb-A to usb-C cable which is included. A bit of an inconvenience since I’ll have to carry another cable with me but it is this cheap for a reason I guess.

I use this cable to connect my Yamaha W5 Synthesizer to iPad. It is 1994 model, 76 keys and no usb port to connect to computer or tablet. Only it has Midi In, Out and Thru. And plus I use USB to iPad Lightning connector adapter ( aka camera adapter) as well, to connect iPad. Please follow the instruction for connecting. Cable midi in, goes to synthesizer midi out; and cable midi out, goes to synthesizer midi in. Red light shows your connection is on, and blue shows midi data is on. My old synth converted to something else, it has own sounds and has DAW programs from iPad are all together. Absolutely recommended.

Had to replace my old Roland interface due to being unable to be updated because of the windows 10 update. This one works with my MIDI keyboards and my Laptop, so happy days!
