LED+ Battery Backup

I just installed a set of three in various parts of the house. I put each bulb on a switch with only a single light socket because other people had said it works better detecting blackouts correctly if there are no other light bulbs on the same switch. Charged 10 hours, then flipped the breaker to simulate a blackout. The bulbs turned on and off (repeatedly) just fine using the light switch. Looking forward to the next time the power grid goes down while I'm in the shower. :)

I purchased these because of the frequent storms we’ve been having over the past few months, hoping they would provide some light during outages. Initially, they worked well and added a decent amount of light. However, after about a week or so, a major issue started. Once turned off, they continue to flicker nonstop, which is extremely annoying. The room ends up looking like a rave party. This is beyond frustrating. Because of how irritating and unusable they became, I’m giving this a negative 5 stars. Not to mention, you have to manually switch them from a “normal can light” into a “flashlight mode,” which defeats the purpose entirely. Do not waste your time or money on these they are complete trash. Look elsewhere for a better option.

These seem like a good idea, but what I discovered is that these battery backup bulbs are only good for lights that you keep on or don’t mind being on all the time. If you turn the light off, then the battery will keep it on for several hours until the battery runs out. So, it doesn’t really work in, for example your bedroom, unless you can sleep with a light on. Furthermore, once the battery runs out, you have to leave the light on for several hours to recharge it, or else it won’t work if you actually have a power failure.

It worked fine with one light on a circuit but not when multiple lights share a circuit: the light comes on a few minutes after the circuit is switched off and runs down the battery. I presume their outage detection system can't always distinguish between a real outage and a switch being off on a multi-light circuit. This is something that GE should have tested and disclosed in the description. All but one of my flood lights share circuits so two out of three bulbs in the pack became expensive flashlights.

I only got one. I got credited but had to get on the phone with customer support. I like the product but I wanted 3.

Bought these just before the yearly november storms hit and we lost electricity. The light was somewhat dim but still good from 6 bulbs in the main room. Keeping these charged for the next outage.
