The use of the acronym provides clear detail on what the most important characteristics of a good leader are.The book is organized well to provide theories, examples, and actionable steps to help you grow.Leadership is stressful and the book is designed to help you acknowledge the existence of stress and work through it in a persistent yet calm manner.Sometimes you just have to throw out your playbook and lead with what you have in front of you. You'll need compassion and the ability to drive bonds among your team.Readers will learn to be patient, resilient, improvisational, and flexible.One of my favorite points of the text is where the reader is taught to create community through human agency. Another is the instructions for intuition.Finally, there are visuals throughout the book assistant in understanding the concepts.A good leader is "forged" through his or her experiences and F.O.R.G.E.D. will help you do it.

F.O.R.G.E.D. is a concise and enjoyable read in the vein of Mark Schwartz’s A Seat at the Table with anecdotal stories and interviews to support the points. For example, the chapter on disruption provides a primer on how to look at disruption and embrace it rather than rejecting it. Another great chapter shows that a CEO needs to have a circle of advisors and knowledge that needs to not accept the groupthink that many CEOs tend to surround themselves with.
