Good quality
Very bright, very effective and....more than a handful of uses, unlike cheaper brands.Sometimes, you get what you pay for.

Too bright :)
Very lightweight, despite its larger than expected size. Body of laser is a little larger (both diameter and length) than an average high-lighter marker. This is a Class III laser, rated at 100 mW max, and is not a toy for your pets to chase a dot around. Even the green dot on a dark brown carpeted floor is bright enough to leave spots in your eyes for a while. Buy a Class II laser for your pets. This items laser dot is visible in full sunshine over 100 yards. In the dark, it has a visible "ray" of laser beam (more visible in humid or dirty air) that makes astronomical observations and discussions a LOT more understandable as to which star or planet you are talking about. I would recommend this for laser for astronomical use. The momentary on push button is easy to find on the side as it is the only control on it. The USB micro-B port for recharging is on the tail end, and a short USB-type A to USB-micro-B cable was included. The party/pattern display tip is a standard rotating head prism that makes an interesting pattern that varies as the tip is turned. Remove the display tip easily by unscrewing it and the laser then functions as an astronomical pointing tool. The battery life appeared to be short, but honestly, that could've been because we were playing with the display pattern tip a LOT when we first got it out of the box. The included USB cord plugs into any standard USB type A port for a power source. While the laser is charging there is a very tiny red light near the "on" press button control.

Just OK.
This laser worked well for many months. However it died completely. I have ordered another, as they are quite cheap (using both definitions of the word). We will see how long the replacement lasts.

VERY bright.
I can see the dot projected on a water tower from nearly a mile away . I wish the dot was much smaller. Its apparent size is about an inch at 50 feet. But since the beam is visible (even in a lowly lit room) I can see it is tiny and very fine, the apparent dot size might be the splash(?).... the reflected light spreading from the the surface which makes the dot seem larger. Speaking of reflected light, I would highly recommend safety tinted glasses and not looking at the dot at close range. The light generated by the dot on a concrete floor is enough to dimly light a dark garage. Without my laser shades, I get after images on my retina after briefly looking at the dot on a wall in my house. Also, the reflected dot is probably not safe for a cat's eyes so not a good cat toy. The included effect diffuser is pretty cool and pretty useless. My only real complaint is that the battery life is short. It's less than 6 minutes of actual lasing. But since the case is sealed with no joint I can find, I can only assume that the battery is low quality and low capacity. But not being able to open it, I can't check it to see its specs or replace it with a better one. Kind of a pain to keep it plugged in since I'm using it as a rough alignment guide for a telescope.

Don't Point...it's not polite!
I've given many speeches using physical extendable pointers, then graduated to the use of red electronic laser-type pointers, and now the ultimate green. This latest version is not as small/compact as my red one, nor does it take AA/AAA-type over the counter batteries, as it is rechargeable. It can be seen day or night thus in any light + the price was right!

Impressive strength for a handheld device.
Can adjust patterns as well as a single beam.

Great Price, Works!
Arrived as scheduled, no problems. Price was hard to resist. Seems to work fine, but have no way to judge if the power claim is accurate. I was disappointed that no instructions or specs were provided for the device, only a small label that required a magnifying glass to read; I expected more info would be required given the claim of high power. Bought it to use scaring invasive geese, but haven’t had a chance to try that yet.Update Nov 2023: have used it twice to scare off invasive geese. I was surprised at how well it works! Really scatters them and they fly away fast! Both time geese were on the surface of a lake, at distance about 100 and 150 yards, in cloudy weather. Doesn’t do the job in bright, sunny weather, when the laser isn’t as visible on the water surface. Works better than I expected…….a great product!
