I love A5 binders and have been through quick a few. This is my most expensive one yet, but a far cry from the others. I love how simple it is. No inner sleeves (though it does come with A5 clear sleeve inserts), no wrap which allows it to easily lie flat on a table, and no pen holder. This is meant to be apart of a bag. I have mine in the front pouch of a 15" laptop, messenger bag and it feels perfectly.Best part is the leather quality. Is it the highest quality I've ever seen? No, but easily the best I've seen on a journal. It feels quite nice and has held up perfectly. Has been a joy to use and if I need another A5 binder I'll probably pick up another.

This is for the floral patterned cover (I got the last one at this time) that is absolutely beautiful. I was a bit hesitant to purchase, especially given the price, so I waited a few days. But when there was only one left, the price went up by five dollars and I went for it. I'm so glad I did. The leather cover is thick, the color is a gorgeous brown, and the embossed floral pattern is well defined and even throughout. I love that it is refillable and especially appreciated the surprise gift of being loaded with paper and two plastic inserts (one a zippered pouch the size of the paper, the other will hold several smaller pieces the size of business cards). The 6 rings are well aligned and tight, and neither too easy nor too difficult to open. I look forward to using this for personal journaling, but could just as easily use it professionally to take meeting notes. Hope they get more in stock; would definitely buy again to give as gifts!!

Just received and am quite pleased. Much nicer than I expected. The packaging was surprising in that in the Amazon shipping envelope, this journal was in another bubble wrap envelope and in that envelope a cloth sleeve and within the cloth sleeve a plastic sleeve! Needless to say, it was well protected during shipping. The actual notebook is a dark chocolatey brown color. The leather itself is nice — I am using this to replace a felt binder I have and this leather is as least as thick as that felt binder. Additionally, this came full with writing paper and 2 plastic storage sleeves— one for business cards, the other for misc items. The interior is a little rougher I thought it might have been, but still pretty nice. It should last a long time. For the price in comparison to other simple leather journals out there combined with the ability to have it shipped in a couple of days, this is a great item and would recommend. Absolutely gorgeous leather. Much better than I had anticipated. If the hardware holds up (I think it will, and it's a great burnished brass color) the journal will last for years. The (oiled?) leather is very thick, smells great, shows marks but that's how it gains character. A5 refill paper is easy to find. Great customer service, too. I ordered the plain cover, they sent the floral version on my first purchase, but corrected it quickly when I emailed and requested the plain cover be sent. Ordered the second plain cover for my office, and emailed in advance to make sure that was sent. No problems. Very happy with this.

BUT it has a chemical rather than leather smell.

I received my journal today and I truly am floored at the quality of it! It's a great size too. The leather is luxurious and thick. There are no marks or scratches on it yet, but if it were, that's ok, it only adds character. The more I use it the better it will look. No regrets at all for the purchase! Recommended! Also wanted to mention that it smells like leather. No chemical odor, just pure leather.

Just what I was looking for. The leather is exceptional and exactly as described. What you get for the value is quite remarkable. I will probably purchase more and gift them to my friends. That how much I love it!
