Revisit the old west
If you like tales of the old west, especially if you like tales of the old west spiced with a bit of the bizarre or supernatural, you will enjoy these stories. The authors depict their setting well enough that you can practically taste the dust at the back of your throat. You may run across some familiar characters and even those that aren't familiar have excellent stories to tell.

A high-noon hootenanny with some familiar faces!
This was a really, really fun anthology. Boop compiled a series of stories that gave your typical western story a very H.P. Lovecraft feel. Every story had a touch of creepy topped with a thick layer of smoke from a six-gun, and I'll be damned if it doesn't work beautifully. There's a great jump back in time for Monster Hunter (Correia) series fans, getting a look at how business was done under MHI's creator, Bubba Shackleford. Then a showdown starring Dan Shamble, Zombie PI, a character I was not at all familiar with, but I'm going to be picking up this series as soon as possible because this little tale was wonderfully weird and fun in a way I haven't experienced in awhile. As a huge Jim Butcher fan and even bigger fan of Harry Dresden, I found the Butcher tale to be a bit lacking. The Dresden Files are famous for their telling, and Harry's narration is just so damn believable you feel like you know him personally. This story stars a familiar character in the series (with a great cameo from a famous figure of the Old West), but I never felt the narration "felt" like the character it represented. It wasn't bad, by any means, but just felt like it could have been a bit stronger to give the narrating character a feel for who they really are.All in all you'll undoubtedly pick this up if you're a fan of any of the series that these short stories are a part of. And, because it's so well done, you'll probably be just as eager to pick up a few of the series that you haven't heard of before. This is the Old West at its Wildest and Weirdest. A must for fans of any of the series contained within, and a highly recommended pickup for fans of either (or both!) genres.

Great set of weird westerns
This anthology of "weird westerns" spans a wide range of stories. My favorite (and to be honest, the main reason I bought the anthology) was Larry Correia's story with Bubba Shackleford's Professional Monster Killers, which later became Monster Hunter International, the fictitious (obviously) company in his successful series. But to single out that one story should not be taken as a criticism of any others. The baddies ranged from the usual ghosts, vampires and zombies to various creatures from Native American legend. There's even a bit of steampunk thrown in. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable book, and I would gladly buy a "volume 2" if one is ever published.

A mashup meant for readers who enjoy a speculative fiction in their frontier lifestyle.
Straight Outta Tombstone is a collection of Weird Westerns, a mashup of genres for readers and authors who likes a bit of speculative fiction in their horseback musing, a dash of frontier life in their supernatural, or maybe just like one or the other and don't let a strange take affect how they enjoy a good story. If you go into Straight Outta Tombstone without that understanding, you may not enjoy the plethora of stories inside, but that would be your mistake. Each author in this collection takes the initiative in creating a world between the genres, and even if I didn't like some of the stories, I couldn't fault the author for making those choices. Contributions from Peter Wacks, Larry Correia and Jim Butcher stood out to me, but when I read stories I didn't necessarily enjoy, I still appreciated what the author was doing with the genre. David Boop has put together a great collection of authors and stories with Straight Outta Tombstone, and even if you're not a fan of Westerns or Speculative Fiction, I still think there's plenty for casual readers to enjoy between the first and last page.Think of it like poker in a saloon that caters to ghosts, vampires, werewolves and zombies. There's sixteen authors in this collection who know exactly what they're doing. The odds for enjoying this collection are absolutely in your favor, and it would be a shame for you to not stick around for a hand or two.

I really enjoyed this anthology
I don't usually read Westerns, weird or otherwise. Because I liked so many authors found here, however, I read this anthology. It was wonderful all the way through. I really had a fun time reading this, and there were no stories below a 4 star rating. You can read my full review over on MySF Reviews. Go buy this now. :)

Quite good so far...
I have only read a couple of the stories so far but I really like what I have read so far. Larry Correia is one of my favorite authors, he writes the Monster Hunter serieshttps://www.amazon.com/Monster-Hunter-International-Second-Hunters-ebook/dp/B00XLQ9PF6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1504031710&sr=8-3&keywords=larry+correia , if you like modern day fantasy then you really should check the series out, starting with Monster Hunter International.

Bought this for the Correia short ...
... and read all of it. Discovered some new authors (to me) to investigate further.I really enjoyed Jim Butcher's story, and Sarah Hoyt's. The entire book is worth reading, but these two and the one by the ILOH were my favorites.

Good read
Overall it was a good read. Of course some stories were better then others, but they were all written very well. If you are a fan of this genre you won’t be disappointed.

Entertaining, some good stories, some great ones.
I was looking for something different, and this book met that requirement. Some authors that I hadn't read, and was pleasantly surprised.

action packed adventure
If you like weird westerns, this is about as good as it gets. An impressive collection of writers who do not disappoint.

Hit and miss
Some excellent stories from recognizable writers, but also some awful ones more concerned with ticking boxes than telling a compelling story.
