What a superb purchase this was, it is a nice product, delivered quickly and exactly as described and the warnings online of how sharp the blade and block helped as when cleaning off excess cheese I was extra careful. I used a new block of cheese, sliced off several slices to last a few days and wrapped them in aluminium foil to keep them fresh.The only thing I found strange was that the item being cut was able to move at an angle and a guide is needed along the top level with the exact trajectory of the item (in this case a nice Cheddar Cheese. To use the cutter the item being cut has to be slid towards the blade in a straight line 4 cm from the top of the board. That would stop the item being cut from sliding sideways as it was pushed towards the very sharp blade. This need reduced it to 4 stars for easy to use.

Excellent cheese cutter

This is brilliant for slicing block cheese and veg and etc etc .......and fingers!!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL CLEANING AND HANDLING!!!! I literally touched the blade whilst cleaning and it neatly sliced my finger!! Not fatal but painlessly and efficiently. Store this under lock and key if you have oldies or kids in residence!! Wear chainmail? Maybe ....having said that it quality and easy to use has safety features (yes) and does job amazingly....just be careful out there......

I am very happy with the way it cuts but have awful difficulty trying to get the thickness dial to stay on. That part is very poorly designed it keeps falling off. Would be 5 star if not for this

I've tried many times to use a wire cheese cutter with very little satisfaction.This guillotine is far more effective, and reminds me of the paper and card guillotine of my primary school days.Very sharp, very efficient, just keep fingers as far away as possible.

For me the most important aspect is the slice thickness adjuster which allows slices from paper thin to around 2 inches thick.The blade is very sharp and seams to be stainless steel. No heavy pressure needed to slice cheese and no chance of cutting fingers.The plastic base is easy to wash in the sink with warm soapy water.The only construction required is the thickness adjuster needs to be attached to the side of the assembly. Instructions are printed on the outside of the boxAnd also on the underside of the plastic base.This slicer is ideal for me to get repeatable thickness results.

This item comes pre-assembled, minus the sizing guide, which comes off for cleaning. I really appreciate that the blade has a safety lock to prevent inadvertent cuts. Trust me though, this is SHARP. After using it the first time, I cut myself on it, just by barely touching the blade through a rag. Now I only wash the blade by scrubbing one direction from the dull back edge off the front tip....CAREFULLY.First off: A standard hand-held wire cheese slicer always chunks off the bottom of each slice, so I don't use those.For reference, I regularly buy the 4-pound block of cojack cheese at Wal-Mart. I cut it into french fry size pieces, first by cutting big slices, stacking those slices, and cutting them again, about 1/3 to 1/2 an inch thick. It would take me 25 minutes to use a butcher knife to do it, and by the end, my hand hurts from forcing the blade through.With this device, I can cut the same amount of cheese in about ten minutes, and two more to wash it. It has a ton of leverage and just mows through a stack of cheese.The only criticism is that the knife is heavier than the rest of it, so it's a little top heavy and prone to scooting around, even on a cutting board.All in all, it's a great device that I hope lasts a long time..

It was not the size that I expected however it is made of good quality material and knife is sharp enough to even cut through biltong with no struggle. Just not the commercial grade you’d expect but fine otherwise

Works like a charm! So easy to use and clean. Cheese slicing was smoothly done and very uniform. Very pleased with it!
