Review: Lapel mic stopped working after 4 weeks - SEE UPDATES - I got this for my husband as a Christmas gift because the church he pastors didn't have a lapel mic. It worked great for about four weeks and all of a sudden just stopped working. We tried new batteries but that did nothing. I'd return it, but it's past time for that. Hopefully we'll be able to get some help from the company, but I'm not holding my breath. Soooooo disappointed because the people in our church that are hard of hearing said it was wonderful! UPDATE: I was contacted by the company and we have been working through the problem. So far, we've gotten the lapel mic to work again. Now we just have to work on the hand held mic. I have gotten wonderful customer service, for which I am very thankful. Once the hand held mic is working, I'll again update my review. LAST UPDATE: This company has been a gem to work with. Our problems were solved and we even received a new receiver since the original one was defective. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from the company in the future. Seriously, you won't be disappointed when working with them. I had to change my review to 5 stars because of the company. The product works great now and I am very pleased! Review: Decent sound badly built - So pro: decent sound on both the lapel and handheld, better than expected for such a cheap device. Connection distance is good, plugged it in and everything worked with no problems, no interference or anything. Pickup distance on the lapel leaves something to be desired, but again I'd expect that and I like how lightweight it is compared to other battery packs. Cons: The peripherals are built poorly. The handheld picks up everything well all right including every single movement of your fingers; which is nothing every handheld doesn't do, but this thing picks it up LOUDLY. I compared it to the shure handheld I have (I know that's unfair, but) and if you describe the movement pick-up on that as a tap on a table, this thing is like beating on a drum even turned down to the point of useless as a mic. The switch is a poor design as well; way too easy to switch off accidentally and as big as my thumb which makes that worse. The lapel like I said could pick up a bit further, but my main gripe about it is how easy it is to disconnect the wire! The lapel wire is supposed to screw onto the battery pack, which I got to screw on once no matter what I did. The rest of the time it wouldn't stay screwed on and even when it did it came back off with barely a pull. So as a result what happens: if the wire is tight at all on the person every little move can disconnect it! That basically makes it completely useless; why would I put it on someone if I'm afraid the wire is going to disconnect at any time?! With a device that at this price I didn't expect a miracle, but I do expect basic functional design! I may send this back just because it's not going to be useful for the purpose I bought it, or I may keep it for small functions where I don't care about the quirks being a problem. But seriously! Why isn't the handheld switch smaller and deeper into the device? Why isn't there some shock absorption on it? And why is the lapel a screw on?! Those never work well over time! Simple little changes even if it raised the price a little would've made this a really decent setup. But this is just dumb!

Wind noise reduction....
I use this item for entertainment and like the nady systems..... The hand held mic's should and could come with a wind screen (sock) like the head sets and lapel clips..... (Merry Christmas to all of you....)
