Adventures in Time: Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile

Got for a Christmas present. Really neat book.

Great book for young history enthusiasts.

I love all the books under the Adventures In Time series. History written in an easy to understand manner that is fun for both children and adults alike. I managed to borrow 2 from the local library and purchased the ones not available for loan. I hope for more to come!

Bought this book for my granddaughter, but decided to read just to check it was not too old for her. Absolutely loved it from the first page and couldn't put it down. So impressed that the timeless story of the incredible Cleopatra has been conveyed as a story that any young person could get engrossed in whilst staying true to an ancient, unfamiliar, terribly challenging and violent world.

I bought this for my 11 year old granddaughter. She found the cover art so juvenile (from her POV) that she wouldn't take it to school with her. However, she's enjoying it at home.Be aware - the Ptolemies (of whom Cleopatra was the last) were a notoriously cruel and bloody lot, and the author does not gloss this over. For example, Ptolemy XII (Cleopatra's father) had his oldest daughter executed and her body fed to the dogs. So, not for the squeamish!
