A good office computer
When I decided to buy an additonal computer, logically , I was confused between a laptop and a desktop. Each have their own merits and demerits and since I have a laptop with me I found myself inclined to buy a desktop. Assembling a PC was out of the question as I had enough bad taste due to some questionable past decisions. You might save up a 10-15K on an assembled PC, but if you intend to purchase an original Win 10 or 11 , mind that it will cost you about 11K for a Win11 Home at present. And if you are going with a pirated version of Windows and Office, how safe you feel using it in the era of cyber crimes ? So I don't see any advantage in going for an assembled unit. Now, when you search for a AIO PC , you are not flooded with choices unlike the laptops. I could see only HP, Lenovo and Acer as the OEMs. And seeing the listed prices of these machines, you start questioning your logic of opting a desktop against a laptop. Neverthless, I had set my mind on a desktop and was comparing this one from HP and an R7 based AIO from Lenovo. Price point of view, both were very similarly prices. Being an existing HP customer, I never had a doubt on the quality of this PC, but I was favouring the Lenovo one due to the R7 processor. But some web searches revealed that the R5-5625 U processor used in the HP fares better than R7 5700u processor used in the Lenovo. Anyways, I ended up buying the R5-5625U HP AIO PC. After a few days of usage I can say that, out of the box it is a very good computer for an every day office purposes. Don't think this can be used for any gaming or high end multimedia productions. Though you can upgrade the RAM to a 16GB, I think one should restrict this computer for everyday tasks and may be some basic coding and data modeling. I saw some questions asked on Amazon regarding the battery backup. Please do mind that this is a desktop computer and it doesnot have a battery backup and so need a UPS for un-interrupted working. Also, there is no CPU to be purchased separatetly as it is an AIO unit , the so called CPU is right behind the monitor itself. You can think this as a laptop sitting on a stand. No, the screen is not a touchscreen and there is no CD drive . What it does have is , 4 usb ports ( 3 on the back side and one on the stand base) , a HDMI port . a LAN port, one Headphone cum Mic port. Also, it does have WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Screen, with thin bezels, is big enough and well brit for prolonged troublefree viewing. Most of the time, the PC is very silent and does not emit much heat. But as you consume its resources, you will hear the cooling fan coming to play, but not very loud or anything. To cut short, I would recommend this desktop to anyone who is looking for a PC for office tasks and basic programming. For more resource intensive tasks, you should go for either a tower pc with better configs or a high end laptop.
