TC65 2K 3MP Outdoor Security Camera CCTV Camera

I love Tapo cameras. This is my second one as the first one was so simple to install and connect, the app allows you to have up to 36 cameras to be connected to the same device. The video quality is amazing for the price of the camera.I like all the different setting on the camera so you can focus in exactly where you want the camera to pick up any movement. You can also turn on function like person detection, Line crossed detection, camera tampering, you can also turn on a alarm which is great if you see someone on your property.The night vision is great (tip, if you are using the camera pointing out of a window turn off the night mode and then the camera will be able to see out of the glass)I like the LED functioning lights so you and others know that the camera is working. Even though the camera is not the smallest people do not notice it, so its good that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb on your property.Another tip - purchase a good quality Micro SD card as the cheap ones can sometimes cause problems with the camera unable to record.The Tapo app is so easy to use which is a big sell to me as I want to be able to see quickly what is going on outside.Ill defiantly be buying more Tapo cameras in the future.

Amazing cctv camera, definitely worth a 5*. We've had a few wifi cameras but this one is by far the best. And a great price for what you get.The picture quality is amazing and seems a wider angle than other cctvs. The sound is crystal clear. Connected to our wifi 6 router perfectly with no delays, unlike previous cctv we had some problems with connection.So quick and easy to set up and install.I always set up the camera indoors as so much easier and if any problems you can sort them in the comfort of indoors. Then install the camera where you would like to put it,making sure you got the view you would like.If you want 24/7 recording and playback you will need to install an sd card as the cloud only takes event recordings. It also comes with 1 month free subscription to the cloud.There's alot of settings to play around with to get the camera how you would like it. Highly recommend this camera. Great value for the money.

We have a camera doorbell that doesn’t cover all of our front aspect so ordered this as further outside security and are very pleased with it. Good price and arrived quickly. Easy to set up once wired into power, which we an achieved by installing wires out of sight below guttering and into our loft which luckily has power sockets. The camera views are crystal clear and can be shared with family members who install the app. Love the auto tilt and pan that can save different views and move to them when clicked. More devices can be added so we will be ordering another to cover the rear aspect at some point.

Firstly this is a great camera. I bought this after buying the C210 indoor camera and was particularly pleased with the options available for such an inexpensive device. As a result I bought this camera to replace my cheap PTZ wireless camera at the front of the house. Most cheap devices come with a generic app where you have to sign in and all you get is recording on an SD card or you can pay for a cloud subscription. The TP-Link Tapo range has RTSP (real-time streaming protocol) which means you can also connect it to your PC software, in my case Contacam which is totally free. I have this set up so that it recognises motion and records a short video of it. I have this running on a server that I can access, so the C210 in the kitchen can show me when the cats come in to feed whilst we are out of the house. This is all on a webpage with animated gif images created on every motion trigger which can be set precisely so only certain areas will monitor for movement. With the C530 I can do this for the front of the house and it will pick up any deliveries, calls, welcome and unwelcome guests whilst avoiding our palm tree blowing in the wind.C530WS FeaturesThe big features that this has over the C210 are higher resolution, colour night vision, AI and a great spotlight feature. The image quality at 3K 5MP which works out at 2880 × 1620 resolution is excellent, also at night. One of the attached images is after I set the camera up in the living room, pinch zoomed onto our cat. As you can see the colour night vision is really bright and decent quality. The field of view is wide which does give it a bit of a fisheye but it covers a very wide range, and also you can move it or enable image tracking if you wish to. The AI determines what the camera is looking at and can differentiate people from pets and vehicles. It will be interesting to see how this notifies me through the app. The spotlight may be very useful at night, even just to illuminate the steps when we are coming back into the house. The sound quality both in microphone and speaker is excellent. The added bonus of being able to connect to Google (and Alexa) is also a brilliant feature.Set UpThis is where the camera falls down slightly. Set up should be a breeze as the Tapo app lets you choose the model and whether it is wired in via ethernet or you want to connect wirelessly. In my case I found that it did not recognise the house wifi, it wants a 2.4Ghz wireless connection rather than 5Ghz however we have both but still it did not find any. I even set up a 2.4Ghz mobile hotspot but it didn't see that one. Looking online it seems that on some devices this is quite common, and a firmware update apparently fixes it but I had the old firmware. I managed to wire the camera in and it connected fine. I then applied the firmware update and hoped this would then set the wireless connection up. It was still not seeing my router. I finally reset the camera using a pin on the reset button which is behind the rubber cover, next to the SD card slot on the underneath of the camera unit - see photo. I then removed it from the Tapo app and added it again which worked. I have been an IT professional and Electronics Engineer so I'm fine with all this but some may find it difficult, if you have a problem unit. Finally set up I then transferred the camera to the front of the house under the gutter.Overall this is real value for money with top end features and full free access if you know how to set it up. The initial setup is still not without its flaws and I can imagine a few units may have gone back as a result but please persevere with it, as it is really worth the effort.

I have been using the Tapo C510W for more than a year now, and it is perfect for outdoor security. The 2K video clarity is excellent, and it is highly accurate at tracking movement even in absolute darkness. One massive plus is the local storage efficiency; by setting it to record only when movement is detected, I can easily store about 3 months of data on a single 128GB memory card, completely avoiding monthly subscription fees.The only slight issue I’ve noticed with the smart tracking is a small blind spot: if someone passes directly underneath the camera, the tracking cuts out and doesn't carry on following them. However, as long as the movement is a little bit away from the camera, the tracking works perfectly and smoothly. Overall, after a full year in the elements, it’s a brilliant, reliable camera!

So far this security camera has exceeded my expectations. I bought one for my 92 year old mother who lives on her own 350 miles away, and I bought one for myself so I could answer any questions she had. I made four short videos for her to assemble the weather sealing and bracket, and neighbour is going to fit it for her. I’m so impressed with my unit, that I’m thinking of getting another one for the other side of my house, and doing away with the subscription security cameras I have. Seems good value for money and hopefully will resist the worst of our Lake District weather through the winter as it’s on a wall that gets hit by the worst weather. Lots of options in the app, and easy to assemble and mount. As it’s plugged into the mains, there’s no worries about battery life either.

I’ve been using the Security Camera for a few weeks now and I’m genuinely impressed. Setup was super simple, it takes just a few minutes to update firmware and setup using the Tapo app and it was up and running.The 2K video quality is incredibly sharp, far better than my old 1080p camera.
