Fits well as a replacement.
This fit my lamp well. I couldn't find an exact match for what I needed with no switch, but I just set it to the right setting and unscrewed the knob.

Perfect fit!
1/4 IPS sockets are tough to find. This one did the trick! Beats buying a new lamp.

Works great and fast delivery
The item came in before the projected delivery date. After a few years of the old one being fragile but still working I was able to use this to replace the broken one and repair a lamp we have had in the family for 22 years. Thanks for bringing this lamp back to life.

Repaired lamp
I installed this socket to repair a bad one that came with a wall mart lamp. The lamp now works fine, (no more flickering) I was going to toss the lamp in the garbage.

Basic socket, no-hassle installation
Looks good, works great, and the screw assembly style is much better than the press-fit style which somehow I can never get quite right. Install this and forget it.

Finally, 1/4" IPS!
It's awfully tough to find sockets that are designed for 1/4" pipe - Most manufacturers use exclusively 1/8", and as a result most places - even specialty lamp parts websites - don't stock 1/4". Nobody wants to use an ugly female/female adapter or a hickey when the base of the socket is plainly visible (as it is in the thrift store floor lamp I was rewiring), so this product was a godsend. Thanks, Texas Lamp Parts Guys!

Perfect replacement, and better design than what came with the lamp!
It fit in a floor lamp that I have that takes the less common 1/4 IPS threaded pipe. Not only was it a perfect fit, but it's actually a better design than the one that came with the lamp (where the threads were molded into the plastic). This one has a metal insert for the threads, which should make it more durable.

The size of thread before you order
Socket is very well built, the table lamp I have used 1/4" thread rather than 1/8".The later is more common but you have to use smaller lamp cord, I prefer 16 gauge cord.
