LamptronPCI Bracket 4-Way High Power Fan Controller, Black

I bought this fan controller to complete a build using an NZXT s340 case, a case with no front panel access at all. This is a little more than some others I saw but it seems worth it.I initially bought this unit (over others) for the aesthetics. No point in making a white/purple/black build for someone and then shoving an ugly green PCB with a silver backplate. This doesn't ruin the look of a sharp build (we used a modular PSU with a thin black molex, which helps here).The 4 dials have a really nice feel to them with complete voltage control including "off". They feel like the dials on a really nice component stereo unit. Feels and looks like quiality.This unit modulates the fan LEDs quite well. I bought a 3 pack of fans with 32 purple LEDS each and the motherboard control left much to be desired. Connected to full power, these fans could light a small city at night. This controller has made lighting control a breeze. (airflow too, of course)Recommended.

It has nice feeling potentiometers and it does what it says it will do but the bracket size may not fill out your PCI slot completely and Molex adapter for power seems pretty dated.It’d have been better as SATA power style, but there aren’t too many of these types of PCI slot fan controllers out there so if you need that, like I do, this is a good one.

Exactly as described this unit has quality components which is apparent the moment you pick it up. The solid design does not skimp on materials. I am running 4x 21+ watt server fans on one of these and it is performing well with no noticeable heating of the board. Well worth spending a little extra when you want quality over the cheaper units. Mine has been in use now for over a week with no issues.

Im sure it would have been awesome if it wasnt broken from the factory.

I was initially worried about buying this unit, but now that I have it, I see that it was a great purchase. I use it to power 4 120mm fans on my pc case and I plugged it straight into the power supply. My power supply came with the appropriate cable connection. It is a little non-user friendly having the controller on the back of the case, but it allows everything to stay nice and clean/streamlined on the front of the case. I leave the controller on and and just power down the pc when not in use. The controller dials are smooth and have a nice tactile click when turned off. I would buy again.My only disappointment is that I had to wait 2 to 3 weeks for it to arrive(no prime shipping offer at purchase) and I paid $50+ dollars for the controller. Once I received it, Amazon showed the unit price at $25 and prime offered 2 day shipping(I was a prime member at time of purchase).

As the headline says, only 3 of the 4 channels work. The fan on channel #3 doesn't respond. I've tested the same fan on other channels and it works fine. Any fan that I hook up to #3 doesn't respond. Piece of junk!

This fan controller works perfectly. It is obviously a quality build as you can feel the weight. It will accept 3 or 4 pin fans and control with voltage, Not PWM. At lowest setting, it may not start a fan if you have more than one fan plugged into one of the four headers. I have 13 fans running off this card with no problems, including 3 - 200mm.

Dials have a nice solid feel, turn smoothly with just enough friction to not feel cheap. Mounts easy enough, wish that single slot PCI cards had a better way to stay more firmly seated without wobbling around. Have had this for a while now, no issues overall.
