GECKO Cajon, Portable Box Drum with Storage Bag, Hand Drum, Percussion Instrument, Bong and Snare

I really like this portable cajon! I think it provides an excellent range of taps, slaps, trills, and tones, and is plenty loud for solo drumming or in a small group. I get a lot of nuance out of this piece, and it's become one of my favorites for quick sessions and practice. I see several reviewers mention the black and maroon parts being painted. But I don't see that. Seems more like stain to me, and with way I have experienced ZERO flaking of the finish of any kind. It's held up very well. Of course like with any hand drum, you want to make sure you take off any rings before playing. The bag this cajon comes with is actually quite nice, fits well, has both a detachable shoulder strap, and a hand handle, an embroidered logo, and ample padding. But I like the look of this cajon so much I put the bag in the closet, and hung it on the wall. I got the version with the 2 anti-slip pads but these pads leave much to be desired. They are a lot like the plastic hook side of a Velcro strip, and I find they don't work well. Depending on the clothing you're wearing, they might also do some damage to finer fibers. Fortunately I had some 1/16 inch thick closed cell foam pads with adhesive backing in my junk drawer from something else I bought in the past. I cut these pads down to size, and affixed them on top of the anti-slip pads. This SIGNIFICANTLY increased the anti-slip,l and made this cajon MUCH easier to handle and keep in place between the knees which of course drastically improved playability. It was an easy fix that turned this cajon into a favorite.

My first Cajon and I love it! It’s even more beautiful than the photo. An added plus is I can even play it quietly in my apartment and still enjoy it.

I wanted something portable for percussion when I play my ukes. I tried a couple of cajons but liked this one the best. I was after a more funk, jazz and reggae sound so the bongo effect was just right. The carry bag that comes with it is very nice too. The cajon has grippy tape on opposite sides to hold firmly between your knees - well thought out feature. I expect this instrument to hold up well (if cared for as it is wood so don't leave it in the hot trunk of the car or on a hot car seat for the afternoon!)

1st, there is no snare. There are three different tones, but none is a snare. It is a beautiful instrument, but the 2 pieces on the sides that are meant to help hold it in between your legs will run or snag certain materials... they snagged by pants. It would be better to have an instrument with a cord to hang it or attach it around your body. I returned the one I ordered with no problems

I love the many different and varied sounds from this little gem, but I just CAN'T get it to hold between my knees to play it. The unusual shape is aesthetically pleasing and contributes to sound but doesn't fit well between the knees to stabilize it to play it.

A little drum with a loud voice. Convenient carry bag. Both the versatile drum and carry bag are both very well made. Learned how to play better watching YouTube instructional videos. Becoming a drummer is easier than you think with a Gecko! Buy this now!

I was surprised at how nice the craftsmanship is on this Cajon. I guess you really do get what you pay for. I like the three different areas, which allow distinct sounds. The Gecko SD6 is a great beginner Cajon for those just getting into it, and works well for the more advanced player. I am very pleased with this Cajon and I am very glad I purchased it.

Very versatile laptop Cajon. Any percussionist should welcome this instrument into their collection. For around $100 cdn you won’t find a better deal. Great tones.

音楽に精通していないのでよく分かりませんが、いろんな音が鳴らせて楽しいです。 しかし、ロゴの近くに印刷汚れがあって、ちょっと残念。 小さな点ですが、気になります。 また、到着から4日後、室内の移動だけだったのに、急に肩紐が取れました。 返品したいと思います。

かなり強く叩かないと音が出ません ミュージシャンの方に聞くと、足に挟むより左手の指を裏の穴に入れて持って叩く方がいいのでは…教えていただきました
