Great product, great service, works well with Win 10
Bought this product recently to view some DVD's on my laptop. I am using it on an ASUS netbook running Win 10 and I also installed the VLC player. When I first received the product, I put in a fitness DVD to try it out - it did not work. I tried it in on my work computer and the DVD worked, so I thought it was the product. I tried a few different medias - music CD's, installation CD's, and it all worked fine with this external drive. I tried a few more DVD's with the Rioddas external drive and everything else worked perfectly. Sometimes it may depend on the type of DVD used or something, and some other DVDs I tried took longer for it to load, but it still worked perfectly on Win 10. I reached out to their customer service team when I first thought it was not working properly and they were extremely prompt and very helpful. I would recommend this external DVD drive from this seller.

Durability is an issue
I don’t know why but these things usually broke after a year or so. For my copy this time, it would still spin and respond to edit button, but dvd contents would not be shown.

Eject button does not work
I got this because it has a physical eject button. The eject button does not work. It will only eject by going through and selecting it in my computer screen. My last drive has that feature but CDs get stuck and the on-screen eject doesn’t work when CDs get stuck. I wanted it for the physical eject button, pretty annoying as this wastes my time!

The product is good and it works as expected
The product is good and it works as expected. I bought it to rip my cd collection. The only problem I have is that my laptop (hp revolve) must be connected to the power outlet in order for the external drive to work. It might be a problem with my laptop, but I think some warning should be provided. Other than that, great product.

Got the drive and used it right out of the ...
Got the drive and used it right out of the box for my Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Started working the minute I plugged it in and I've been using it off and on for the last month with not problems. The only problem is I have to store it and break it out and carry it with me where I'm going to use the computer and a disk. However, that is little price to pay for such a helpful item. I just hope it last a while. But if I can get a year's use out of it, it would be well worth the price to get another. It works well with a Windows 10 64 bits system.

OK, but DOES NOT WORK on MacBook Air
Seems like an OK device, but does not work at all on my early-2015 MacBook Air, even with a USB splitter to provide extra power. I replaced it with a different DVD writer and had no problems. Best advice: scan the reviews to be sure that the device will work with your computer.

I bought to use it with a Macbook Pro, but it didn't work. So I wrote an earlier review, giving only one star. Because I've seen other Mac users with issues, I'm posting again. I've since discovered that the only way the drive is usable with my computer (playing, ejecting, etc.) is through ITunes. Then it works. I think that info is critical for potential buyers.

Simple, and easy to use
I got this because the cd drives in both my Dell laptop, as well as my dinosaur MacBook, no longer work. This seemed to be an easier/ inexpensive fix than new computers. And so it is!The portable drive simply plugs into a USB port, and works! I will say, that although it IS compatible with both the laptops, plug and play was pretty much seamless with the MacBook (not unexpected), while the Dell needed a little handholding to get going. Not impossible, just not as seamless. There are no frills with this. It is simple, and works well.
