SmallRig P96 Mini LED Video Light, Bi-Color 2700-6500K Portable Light

This little light is super bright, has several output options, convenient to carry, has so many uses (even during power outages and on camping trips and mission trips), does not require batteries because it ia rechargeable. It also works well on any small inexpensive tripod if that is your preference. It is only one light so don't view the listing like I did and think that it includes 2 lights. I bought it for photography to backlight dim or unlit spaces but it has been used for so much more and I need to buy a couple more. You won't be disappointed!

P96 is simple to use and no joke!!! I was able to light up groups for family picture at night in Mississippi. I became the photo guy. When this single light!! Came on it was like sun rose. And I turn it off it set again. Everyone then relied on dim build lighting. I kept thinking what if I had 2!!! Or even the pro one. I regretted not bringing my 20 inch soft boxed cuz omg!! Soft light work insane in complety dark environments. You get a free back drop.

The SmallRig P96 Pro Mini is a solid little LED panel. It's small enough to throw in a bag but still puts out plenty of bright, even light — great for video calls, vlogging, product shots, or as a fill light on set. Update: I received another from Amazon the next day and the seller also reached out to make things right. Amazing customer service! This thing is simple, very bright at its brightest (but also dimmable), and lightweight. I haven't tested the battery life but it'll be fine for meetings and stuff that I need it for. I only wish the charger came out of the bottom and not the top so I could use it while charging. The only thing that's a problem is that you can't use a fast charger with it. It wouldn't charge with my phone charger or the PD ports on my PC so I have to use a traditional block to charge it. Although annoying, it's not a deal breaker. Great light. Highly recommend! Just got this and tried to turn it on...nothing. Thought it might be dead so I plugged it in...nothing. I've started a replacement return and will update after it comes. But this this is all plastic. Sturdiness will probably not be highly rated but it's also super light, which is nice if it's sitting on your rig. So there's the trade-off. Most reviews and videos were good. I'm hoping the new one works!

I was really excited to get the SmallRig P96 light. I needed a small, portable light for my camera setup, and the features looked perfect. While the light itself performs well, I'm unfortunately very disappointed with the physical quality of the product. What It Does Right: The Light Let's start with the positives. The light output is fantastic. With 96 LEDs, a high CRI of 95+, and the ability to adjust the color temperature from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, it produces beautiful, natural-looking light. The brightness control is smooth, and it gets plenty bright for my needs in vlogging and food photography. The 2200mAh battery is also decent, giving me enough power for a typical shoot, and charging via USB-C is convenient. The design is also smart, with three cold shoe mounts that let you stack lights or add other accessories, which is a very handy feature. Where It Falls Short: The Body My main issue, and it's a big one, is the build quality. The entire unit is made of a plastic that feels incredibly lightweight and fragile. It does not feel like a premium product at all. The control dial for adjusting brightness and temperature feels flimsy, and honestly, I'm worried that it wouldn't survive a small drop. For a piece of gear that's meant to be "portable" and used with cameras, tripods, and other equipment, it feels weak and cheaply made. It gives me the impression that it was built to a price point, and durability was not a priority. Final Verdict It's a mixed bag. Functionally, the SmallRig P96 does exactly what it promises. The light is versatile and high quality. However, the poor construction makes me question its longevity. If you plan to use this exclusively in a protected studio environment, it might be a good budget option. But if you're a creator who needs durable, reliable gear for travel and on-the-go shooting, I would be hesitant to recommend this. The great light performance is sadly let down by a body that feels like it could break at any moment.

The stepless knob for brightness and color adjustments was intuitive, and the built-in 2200mAh battery lasted about 1.5 hours at moderate settings, which was enough for most of the event. The three cold shoe mounts were a nice touch, letting me attach it to my rig or link multiple lights if needed. For close-up shots, like the couple’s first dance, it provided soft, natural light with the built-in diffuser, which was great for portraits. However, in very dark settings, like the dimly lit reception hall, the P96’s 1100 lux at 1 foot wasn’t quite bright enough to light up larger scenes or subjects more than a few feet away. I found myself wishing for more power, especially when shooting wider shots in near-dark conditions. The plastic build also felt a bit flimsy, and I handled it carefully to avoid damaging the mounting points, as some reviews mentioned fragility. Battery life dropped fast at max brightness (around 105 minutes), so I had to conserve power during longer shoots. For $24.99, it’s a solid budget-friendly fill light for smaller, well-lit setups or as a secondary light, but for darker wedding venues, I’d pair it with a stronger light source or opt for the P108 Pro for its RGB and extra effects.

I’ve been extremely impressed with this. Brightness & Colors: 10/10 There are tons of colour tone options and brightness levels, making it easy to get the exact look you’re after. Charging: 10/10 The best part is how quickly it charges. Durability: 10/10 The real test came when my buddy accidentally dropped it into a lake. We pulled it out to my surprise it still worked perfectly. It’s now been about two months since that happened, and I still use it daily without any issues. Portability: 10/10 Very compact and easy to carry around, yet surprisingly powerful for its size. Overall, this little light packs a serious punch. Great brightness, lots of color options, fast charging, and durability that exceeded my expectations. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
