I don’t read, cause I lose interest so fast. But this book is amazing, so interesting and engaging. I love it and how it’s helping me learn about my walk with God

A practical and relatable look at the problem of self focus and the solution found in Christ
In today’s culture of self-preoccupation and self-help, Free of Me delivers a message of freedom. Psalm 121: 1-2 tells us that our help comes from the Lord and in this book, Sharon gracefully exposes the dangers and holes in a self-help gospel. Instead, she continuously points us to look to Christ when it comes to our insecurities, our relationships, and our purpose. With a strong theological understanding and a relatable voice, Sharon opens up honestly about her own struggles with self-preoccupation, allowing her experiences to lovingly convict and reveal places where the reader may also be making life about them. With chapters on making God about you, your family about you, your possessions about you, and your church and calling about you, Sharon shows us how we can often fail to live the free life we have gained in Christ when we look inward instead of raising our gaze to Him.Sharon doesn’t just leave us with knowledge of our problem; she delves into action steps we can take to start claiming the freedom we can have from making life about us and instead focusing on praising God, serving others, and dying to self without neglecting self. This book is a must-read for anyone who feels like there is something missing from some of the teachings for women today. It’s message is so practical that I find myself thinking about it as I go about my day and as I reflect on my experiences and interactions with others. Perfect for a book study with reflection questions and scriptures, I plan to share this book with others in my church.

Great Book
I love when God leads you to the perfect book at exactly the right time. Free of Me an easy to read, faith-filled, raw, life changing study. Many of us discovered we struggle with self-focus, self-preoccupation, self-esteem issues, and didn't even realize it. This book really challenged me in ways I didnt expect and helped me to realize just how much I make things about me. By being so focused on me, I've shifted my focus inward leaving me stuck moving in circles, and my focus should be fixed on Christ. Once it is, I can move forward with freedom, peace and joy! While you could easily read this alone, doing this as a small group study made it so impactful. Right Now Media has videos that cover a few of the chapters. Over the six weeks we met, the chapters didn't line up with the videos, but we read three chapters a week, and one video each meeting. So even though we had read chapters 9-11 one week, we watched the video that lined up with Chapter 5. There is also a Leader Guide provided through the website that covers each chapter. The only thing that would have made this better is if the videos lined up better with what chapters we had read that week and our meetings. Otherwise, this was a great study for a small/accountability group.

Women's Bible Study
This book is not only a good self read, but I think its even better when it can be discussed with a group. At the end of each chapter there are reflective questions and it creates a great guided open dialogue.Easy read. Chapters are short.Personal opinion, this book would be appropriate/recommend for high school age and up.

I needed to read this
This book was everything I was hoping for and more. It is steeped in Scripture and has a clear point --my life is not meant to be lived for my comfort, glory, or satisfaction. It is so much bigger than that. Self-forgetfulness is the only answer to the suffering caused by self-absorption. It is any easy book to follow and builds logically and carefully. I read it in one day. It also has great questions for reflection at the end of each chapter.

Do not suggest it
It's absolutely not a book i would suggest. It is a life story more than a book to read in a subjective way! I gave it a chance more than once but no. It has absolutely something to do with my personality too, because i do not like reading stories, but it was about her life all the time!.
