The set Mideer Magnetic Building Blocks is a well presented and well made toy. The pieces are of sturdy plastic construction with magnets built into the plastic. The whole thing is well packaged and well presented. The box contains the 60 plastic tiles, a fabric bag and a book of building ideas and plans. The fabric bag is a useful extra and will keep everything stored together if or when the cardboard box falls apart!The book of plans provides an initial set of suggestions for starting to explore the possible designs. There are suggested designs for both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional designs. The plans are just the start as with a bit of imagination there are an infinite number of designs that can be made, ideal to stimulate the young mind and keep older minds active too. In fact, anyone who enjoys building things will find the fun - and perhaps the education - in this toy. Even just sorting the colours and shapes - for very young children - is surprisingly fun.The educational quality is in my opinion good as the tiles allow a wide variety of imaginative ideas to learn about construction and the use and power of magnets. While older children might realise that they’re learning, or use the toy to develop their skills, younger children won’t realise that the fun they’re having is actually educational!Overall this is a good quality, fun and enjoyable STEM toy. On first look, £30 (or there abouts) initially seemed quite pricey. But once you see what you get - and once you realise the hours and hours of building fun you can have with it - you realise that it’s excellent value for money. I have no problem recommending this and anticipate it being a staple in our household for years to come. 5 stars.

This set is fantastic because it’s design and build quality is so good. I’m delighted with this set and find it’s very easy to use and very fun to play with my niece and nephew. We’ve not had any issues with it anyway! I like how strong, sturdy and durable this set is plus it’s easy to pack away and keep clean. I feel it’s a very versatile set, we can make so many different things and it’s superb for encouraging imagination and creativity. I like the size of the individual pieces and the magnetic attraction is strong and secure. I also think the bright colours are fab too! It’s safe to use and play with and I like that it keeps my niece and nephew engaged and entertained. It’s easy to take from house to house so I feel it’ll be good for when we go camping as a family too. The value for money I think is very good and I highly recommend this set. It’s giftable and will make a great present for a loved one. I give it a huge thumbs up!

The first thing you'll notice on items arrival is the weight of the package, this set though small is very heavy, which isn't a bad thing, when it comes to toys like this that usually equates to quality and i found that to be the case here.The item arrives in a nice branded box so is also suitable for gifting, though you probably won't want to post it via normal delivery methods, i can't imagine the postage cost due to the weight.The box contains the product, building instruction booklet with plans, carry bag.I found this product to be sufficiently different to warrant a purchase, it's a break from the norm and well implemented, younger children may need some assistance to line up the magnets and copy the building plans, but you have a free building reign regardless.The only other slight drawback may be the lack of differing shapes and limitation of number of pieces if you purchase the smaller set, 60 may sound a lot but they're quickly dispensed on a project.Otherwise it's one of those toys that initially may sit in the corner, but has a habit of being taken out, long after the kids have become fed up of the more novelty items they received this year.Recommended

Additional review:The first of these we received was a free review sample but our grandson has so loved playing with them that we’ve now bought an extra set (purchase date May 31st 2023).They really are that good and provide hours of fun for a five year old. They are strong, large and the magnets hold perfectly well enough to build quite large buildings and shapes.Original review:We've reviewed a few of these now and this is one of the best, and, with the 20% off offer (December 2022), decent value for a 60 piece kit. It's well made, strong and quite substantial. The magnets hold well enough but, as with all, they could be stronger. This means that it is best for an older child alone or a younger child (3+) with adult help. Also, 60 sounds a lot, but the more the better as often I find we need more of a particular shape.All-in-all, though, these are worth buying and provide lots of educational fun.

This magnetic tile set is a great alternative to other more traditional building block sets etc. Kids even in the upper age range this set is advertised for, ages 6-8, will enjoy playing with it. My daughter absolutely loves it. The tiles are nice and bright and very durable. Would recommend!
