The comfort is a game changer!
I love this roll. I use it for Pilates. It is much softer than the more rigid rolls commonly found in shops. It is softer and more comfortable on the neck or back which provides a comfortable support to do a variety of movements.

The BEST SOFT but supportive / structured foam roller
2nd purchase because I love my first one so much and didn't want to miss getting a backup. I have had my other one over 5 years and still use it nearly every day. It's the BEST SOFT but still supportive and structured foam roller I have found. I have researched and bought (and returned) several other ones, but they do not compare to the MELT Method brand one. It's pricey, but it's perfect for rolling out your neck, back, really your whole body. The length is just right. Hopefully in the future I can get the smaller travel one. My body LOVES this thing!

Life-changing for an aging athlete
Skeptical due to the silly high price and possibly unproven "science," I nonetheless ordered this after reading Sue Hitzmann's book about her MELT method, in absolute desperation after having tried nearly everything else for nearly lifelong joint pain. I never thought I'd get any version of a roller, though; I had, like Hitzmann (as she explains in the book), shunned the hard foam rollers offered in gyms and rehab clinics. They really hurt, and who needs more pain? But her point is to provide a means of addressing the fascia tissue, a long-neglected source of dysfunction and pain, without having to go to a therapist: "Hands-off therapy," she calls it. Do it yourself. So I figured it was worth risking the $80 for a *soft* foam roller and following the instructions in the book. As per her warning, the first few sessions of DIY fascia rolling produced discomfort but of a new sort compared to my usual. As a former competitive gymnast and runner--with hypermobile joints (EDS)--I know about pain and rehab and joint surgery. I had been told on several occasions that I would not be able to walk past age 40 and "it's a miracle you are not in a wheelchair." I enjoy defying the experts but I have crutches, braces, and walking sticks permanently on standby in a corner for those really bad days. And now, well past age 40, I have no good days. Oddly, though, the post-rolling pain was located in new places such as my back, where I normally have few issues, and it was bilateral and generalized--any back pain I customarily have is usually very localized, one-sided and responsive to chiropractic balancing. Bilateral, diffuse pain means something different has been addressed, and is changing. But I stuck with it. And am utterly grateful for this simple, at-home method of rolling out the stuck tissue between skin and muscle because for the first time in months I SUDDENLY HAD ZERO KNEE PAIN. This is, for me, unheard of; I am normally unable to sleep all night due to having to rearrange my joints as the pain wakes me up. I am now sleeping all night in any position I want. I have to emphasize again: For the past few decades this has been literally impossible. As far as I'm concerned this was eighty bucks well invested. I do my MELT rolling religiously in the evening with the TV on. I use this goofy blue roller on every part of my body. Sometimes it really hurts. Sometimes I feel it worse within hours or the next day but the discomfort dissipates and in its place is something I had not felt for most of my life: 100% pain relief. Normal. Heck, who cares about the how or why. You will have to pry this device from my cold, dead hands.

Wow!!!
Absolutely in love with this roller. Thereโs nothing better out there. If I had two backs Iโd buy another.
