The Wingman [Anders, Natasha] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Wingman Review: Pick this book up I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Laugh out loud situations, an engrossing read! - Daisy McGregor (who considers herself a wall flower) finds herself receiving attention from one hot man, Mason Carlisle and she knows something is up. She overhears his brother making a comment about his being his wing man so that he can get Daisy's beautiful and popular sister Daffodil's attention. It back fires and he's not happy. Neither is Daisy finding out she's been used for a hoax. She decides to ask Mason Carlisle to make it up to her by being her wing man at her sisters wedding. He accepts because he finds her wit fascinating and is strangely attracted to her. He tells her that they should have several dates before the wedding so that everyone can believe he is actually her date at the wedding. I can't say more about the book without spoiling it for you. I can tell you the book is a hoot to read, the sexual scenes are very much hot, I found myself laughing out loud and engrossed by the story. I read it in one day, I couldn't put it down. I love it when authors make a story seem so real that when something happens in the book that is funny they write it so well that it makes you laugh out loud. Pick this book up I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Here is the description of the book as found on Good Reads: She was supposed to be his one-night distraction. But their attraction is undeniable. Introverted Daisy McGregor is used to being a wallflower, but what she lacks in style, she makes up for with an acerbic wit, a passion for life, and a deep devotion to her family. So she’ll suffer through her sister Dahlia’s bachelorette party and accept the cloud of pity for going stag to the wedding. Out at the pub, sexy bad boy Mason Carlisle is a reluctant wingman tasked with entertaining Daisy while his brother flirts with her oldest sister, Daffodil. When the plan fails and Mason’s true intent is revealed, he feels intense guilt—and a sensual spark of desire for the unlikeliest of women. Daisy decides to use this unfortunate encounter to her advantage: to make it up to her, Mason will be another kind of wingman, playing the role of her boyfriend and wedding date. Will their ruse unravel completely—or will Mason and Daisy’s undeniable attraction ignite a scorching love affair that knows no rules? I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Review: The perfect little love story - Now this is a love story. Just your basic everyday story of two people who meet, date, spend time together getting to know one another and fall in love. Except it’s all fake. Mason reluctantly agrees to distract Daisy while his brother attempts to gain the attention of Daisy’s sister. The two appear to get along quite nicely until Daisy learns that Mason has no real interest in her. However, due to a lifetime of being the “other” sister, frumpy and unfashionable, she turns the tables on Mason and using his feelings of guilt, she blackmails him into being her date at her sister’s wedding. Now I’ve read other books with this trope but this author took this storyline and added into it two characters who are each charming, fun, damaged in their own ways, and completely unaware they are falling in love. The writing is pure magic. It is all completely believable as the author shows the reader each step of the way how, when, and why Mason and Daisy move from not friends into something more. It is never wordy or bogged down and the pace is fast and engaging. The banter between these two is so entertaining and they are able to laugh at their own flaws even when embarrassed by them. It was especially fun to catch the unspoken/written comparison of Daisy and Mason’s relationship to that of their dogs Peaches, a feisty little furpuff, and Cooper, a huge mixed lab. And if you think an ex-soldier alpha can’t be intimidated then wait until you read about his first meal with Daisy’s parents. Good cop/Good cop (yes both Goods) has never been so hilarious! This is written in both POVs with a nice little epilogue one year later. May the chicken dances commence!

A sweet fake dating romance
Yet another lovely story by Natasha Anders set in South Africa. I loved the fak dating premise and really enjoyed Mason and Daisy's characters. Mason is a grumpy ex soldier and bodyguard who has now returned to his small hometown Riversend and gets roped into being his brother's wingman for the night. He had to distract the sister of the girl his brother was trying to chat up. He was reluctant of the idea as he knew it wasn't fair to Daisy. Daisy is the quiet and shy one of the McGregor sisters. She is shorter and chunkier than her tall and slim older sisters, and so was always overlooked in favor of them. Men didn't seem to see her at all. So it was strange to see Mason Carlisle show interest in her, and it was confirmed when she overheard his brother later. But she came up with the idea of Mason being a wingman and ask him to be her fake date to her sister's wedding, to avoid the usually comments she gets from family of yet again not having a gentleman in her life. Mason also hated that Daisy found out the truth of his brother's silly plan and for some reason couldn't understand his need to see her again. He found her interesting and smart and funny. Not at all like the usual woman he's been with. I really loved their story and how they growed to like each other's company and the sexual tension between them. Would highly recommend to others.

This was a 5 star for me until.......
** REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS ** I truly enjoyed this story up until about 85% of the book. Here’s why... Mason ( though he wasn’t perfect) was a nice guy and good to/with Daisy and willing to go along with the plan. Once their little secret was revealed, Daisy asked Mason if he told her high school bully (though she believed he did). He got so angry with her. His rude attitude towards her continued until the end of the book which was completely unwarranted and unnecessary. I couldn’t understand how he went from being so sweet, funny and kind to being a complete jerk over somethings so minuscule. His attitude at this point just ruined the entire book for me.

I really enjoyed reading Daisy and Mason's story. I know it's my favourite although I haven't read the others. Daisy's charater was so relatable and enduring, and Mason was such a sweat heart and sexy man 😍. Their love is so cute yet spicy and heartwarming. I think it was paced quite nicely although I wanted a longer epilogue of their engagement. I'm hesitant to read the next book because I didn't like daffodil character very much and I definitely disliked Spencer, eventhough he apologised for his comments about Daisy I can't help but hold it against him. However, it seems that they are both a bit shallow so I guess they are well matched.

Daisy is easily eclipsed by the beauty of her two older sisters. But once Mason comes to know her she starts to shine and to come out of her shell. The story is easy to read. I am not totally found of the style of writing, but overall I spent a good time reading it.
