I was given this a Christmas present, a lovely present.The photographs are brilliant, it would have been very helpful for someone who no longer lives in London to have a map with each section.

Giving friends books to read lays quite a duty on them in terms of the time they need to invest.Giving them a book of photographs with some narrative is a different matter.This is a fascinating boo which every lover of London will enjoy

Huge and heavy book. Absolutely jam packed with so many photos documenting London’s history. Mainly buildings but also lots of people pictures (normally with buildings also in the picture). Wonderful social history of the great Capital. I have loads of books on London and I haven’t seen most of these before.

A quality book, evincing of much care. For any one with a love of or interest in the development of central London, treat yourself.
