It works. But falls apart. Annoying given the price.

Pairing with Shield Pro went smoothly. Original remote was completely dead.

Connected to my Shield 2015 seamlessly, just like a stock controller.I have a Shield 2017 with this remote as well and works just as good.

This review is P3700 remote for use with 2015 Shield TV, the one with the wonderful slim, rechargeable remote (in all sincerity, I love the og remote but mine is dying). The 4-way pad left & right have been going bad on my remote for a long time. A year or so ago I tried a remote called G20 and after several units disappointed me I finally gave up. My old remote is definitely on its last legs so I tried this P3700. It came with no retail packaging - just the remote in a bag with a one-page document. It sure seems like a "refurb" but the remote itself looks new. It feels cheap as heck, like it will be lucky to last a week but maybe it will go ten years. Out of the bag, mine was DOA. Would not work. Would not pair. No pairing light like the instructions say will blink. Finally I found a YT video, something like "5 ways to fix your Nvidia shield TV remote". Near the end of the video he gives a reset procedure starting with only one battery. I had done this procedure and finally the remote beeped. Then the Shield said the remote connected and it wanted to update the remote's firmware, which we did, and the remote has been working well ever since. Who knows how long it will work. A couple of the G20s worked for a day or two and then went nuts. But like I said, this one might go for ten years. So for now, I have to give it 4 stars. I have done a couple of searches using the microphone and since there is no light, you can't tell when the mic is active, but it works. I would prefer a mute button to a Netflix button.

I have two Nvida Shield devices and I ordered one of these for each so wife and I would have our own remotes. They work just fine, no problems at all.

Not only was this not as easy to slide open to get to the battery compartment, but it doesn't even work. No lights, nada. Defective, waste of time. I know Shield TV remotes are terrible but at least they work out of the box. This didn't even have a box, just wrapped in plastic with a sheet of instructions. Hey maybe I got a bad one and it's going back without a fuss but what a disappointment.
